Hey all! I was all set to order then I see it asks for the jacket size... I have all of my measurements, but hadn't figured this out. Here are my dimensions:
height: 5'8"
chest : 38in
sleeve 24in
waist 33 1/2
shoulderspan: 18"
backlength: 22"
What size should I order? 38 reg? I dont want it to be too long, and I dont want it to be too small. Please!!!
Quick last minute question before order!!

Others may jump in, but it looks like you've got the bases covered. The only things I added to my order to help them make a decision were my current suit jacket and dress shirt sizes (in my case, 42 regular and 16" x 34" respectively). As a result, we got it right on the first try and mine fit perfectly.
The only questions I'd ask you is, depending on how old you are, are you expecting to grow any further? If so, you might want to go up one size to give you a longer period of wear. The same might hold true if you were planning to layer underneath it.
Any other opinions from the crowd?
Cheers!

im 19, i may grow a tiny bit but not enough to warrant ordering a larger size I think... I tried on a friend's 38 regular jacket(it was a dress jacket) and it seemed really long, although I am new to this kind of thing and have no idea if the 38 regular was longer than a normal one or whatever, I am a bit confused here. So what should I put down? I would love someone to explain the meaning of the jacket size (in terms of what dimensions it means). Thanks for the quick reply, Baggers.

22" for the back length seems a bit short! A 40 SHORT is 24 inches on the Indy jacket, cutting 2 whole inches off is quite a bit! I'd talk to Peter on this one. I'm 5'9" and wear a 40 and that's only an inch taller than you, and the back length is fine. I don't even know if Wested will make one that short I dunno..
have a nice day.

You did what I did. When I was in doubt, I gave myself an extra inch here or there to make sure I got it right. All in all, I sent them my custom measurements, and had the jacket made specifically for them instead of ordering an off the rack size. This made the jacket feel more personal to me, and the second I put it on, I knew I had gotten it right.
Here's hoping yours fits perfectly!
