lanyard ring

My S&W is missing the Lanyard ring. Any ideas where I can get a replacement?

Gun shows or online auction sites. You will have to keep your eyes out for one. Some people who have them usually don't know what they have or what it goes to.

As someone who doesn't have this firearm, I'm curious; does it screw into the bottom of the grip?
Thanks,
Tim

I just took a look at mine and saw no threads in the hole. I'll ask at the gun shop next time I go in maybe they can order one for me.

Actually it screws into the bottom of the frame, between the left and right grips. The grips on the old S&W's don't hide the frame like many modern designs do.

Thanks Weaver!
So that would be the frame where the grips screw into. There would be a bit of frame between the grips and beneath is a place where it would screw in. Goccha! Thanks.

You got it my friend! :D The grips "sandwiched" the frame so to speak.

lanyard ring

Post by hanson »

If I am not totally mistaken, all my S&W revolvers have pinned in lanyard rings. This allows them to pivot freely in 360 degrees. If you have one without a lanyard ring, you can order the ring and pin from Numrich Arms or Gun Parts Corp or whatever they're called now. If there is no hole in the butt of the frame, Only the manufacturer can restamp the serial numbers if they're in the way and end-mill the proper hole in the proper place.Regards,Hanson.
