Key to the Cairo Mushroom?
Is the old telescope line a 360 degree HINGE waiting for heat and humidity to mushroom the crown?
Sorry if i go against your famous and surely interesting theory mr 3thoubucks but i have to show you something... what you think are the marks of a rebashed telescope hat are actually just "dirt marks" on the hat IMO... see this pic
if you notice, it's the same dirt that is on the brim and around the ribbon (see the red arrows in the second pic)

Thank you LC
Expecially the right mark (the one pointed by the right red arrow in my second pic) you can see it's nothing but dirt because the felt is smooth and not like previously bent if you know what i mean.
Your right in your pics there is a visible mark but the ones you use are soo bad quality and if you compare them with the dvd screengrabs you'll see that it's only dirt PLUS if it would be the mark of a previous different bash (pastoral hat) it would have been simmetric to the ribbon... but it's not... see this
sorry if the red is in bad contrast but if you save it on your pc and zoom on it you'll see better what i mean
Same thing with the previous pics...
those marks, which i think are just dirt marks, are not simmetrical to the body of the hat like they would be if it was previously a telescopic hat

Note in the last pic above the dark line directly above the dirt line. That's because it was previously bent. The dirt line is fuzz that pops out at a severe bend, catches dust and illuminates it. The line is symetrical to the ribbon here [/url]

Great pic! Here you can follow the dark line INTO the top dent.

Looks a bit.. how do you say? far-fetched?
I'm just watching some parts of ROTLA to see if i can spot that mark somewhere else. If i find a clear evidence of it (not old pics from a VHS) be sure i'll be within your followers rbucks but till then... consider me a competitor
i'm kidding, i'm just curious about your theory.

3K,
This is one of your theories that I buy into. I'd love to see more info backing your claim, but dude, you NEED some better software to get some screen grabs. I think all you need are some solid caps to put everyone else in the proper perspective. The ones you post look like they were taken with a camera off an old t.v. Anything you can do, like PowerDVD?

The dark line touches the top of the light line- They are two elements of the same line. VP, the line in the top dent is not the one you outlined, it's closer to the end of the bash. I may need better caps, but you guys need new monitors. You can see a dark line above the light line here. If this were just a distressing fold, You would probably see a dark line BELOW the light line, since the sun is above the hat.

Ow well they werent zoomed, just cut from the scene, the quality just went away when i converted them to JPG but i can send you the BMPs3thoubucks wrote:How about clearer shots of the two other pics on this page? I don't know if you can do it, i can get grabs as good as yours if I capture the whole screen like your grab. The quality goes away when I zoom.

Sorry but I have to ring in the bell here
I have to say here, you guys are doing a great job on this discussion. When someone has a theory, it is much better understood when it is shown visually with screen grabs or just pics.
3thous- That`s the main reason I have always respected your work....may not agree with some of it but respect the heck out of it...you always show a screen grab that accurately represents what you are theorizing. Also you show comparisons with your hat and the movie hat and that makes things very convincing sometimes.
Erri- You just made an awesome rebuttle buy doing the same thing. I don`t quite buy the porkpie conversion for Harrison Fords hat(although it is one way to achieve 'the look' for us posers) but I am very intersested in how this whole discussion plays out.
Most all you guys on this website should be the role models for all other websites in your respect for others and others opinions..
Keep up the good work
