It's not a matter of too much java, it's a matter of him spotting the coffee pot altogether!randystokes wrote:Uh oh, scary new avatar for Michaelson. Check out those eyes!

Thanks for the update, MK. I'd be great to get reviews like this on other pieces of gear and how they stand up to the test of time. I have a vintage military shirt (close enough) which has been serving me well, though now I know the most durable options!

Ape arms. Yeah, I can relate. That is probably a good selling point for me! Actually, maybe more like silly, gangly arms in my case, but I get what you mean, MK.Michaelson wrote:Hey, MK, if that Willis and Geiger shirts needs a home, keep me in mind!
Arms of an ape?...yep yep yep!!!
Regards! Michaelson
I'll rochambeau you for MK's shirt, Michaelson! I'll go first...

I wore the Tilley Endurable hat all summer and in the rain last week. Quality, but pricey stuff.
Listen, if a hat can be eaten by an elephant and then excreted, washed a worn again- then that is quality stuff!
I wonder if the owner is called "S**T Head"?
Are the Tilley shirts a good Indy color match or just really a fine bush shirt?
Best regards,
Prof. Ed

They are the same folks in Canada that make the Tilley hats.
While I was at Disneyland, a well dressed lady walked passed me wearing one of their hats. I said, "Nice Tilley", and she turned and smiled.
I did the same thing and was given a look like I was a lecherous old man!!! Kind of liked it thoughBufflehead Jones wrote:HJ,Hemingway Jones wrote:That's true Feraud, you never hear about how gear has aged and responded over time. Thanks for the update, MK. Oh yes, my favorite diversion while on vacation is playing "spot the Tilley hat." There's a ton of them out there!Bufflehead Jones wrote:HJ,

I've gotten several items from Tilley over the years including two hats and one bush shirt. I forget when I got the shirt, it may have been over eight years ago, but I ironed it once, and haven't had to do it since. There is still no sign of fraying or of the fabric wearing thin at the rub points, and it comes out of the washer still looking like a shirt half it's age. Admittedly, the fabric content is more polyester than cotten, but the care tag really does mean it when it reads "Give 'em H**l!" Yes they're expensive, but when you consider that the cheaper shirts will have hit the rag bin long before the Tilley, you're actually saving money in the long run.
Cheers!

I agree with floatinjoe. I like the Cabela's shirt. It fits me better than the LL Bean shirt. The Bean sleeves are about an inch too short. But the LL Bean shirt is definitely more comfortable in the Texas summer. I'm going to check out the Tilley shirt...my dad wears his Tilley hat whenever he travels. He swears by the quality of their products.

When you said "Tilley", she must have misunderstood what you said.Prof. Ed wrote:I did the same thing and was given a look like I was a lecherous old man!!!
