Affordable Indy boot alternative

Post by Jim »

This subject may have come up in the past, but I was wondering if anyone else out there has found Skechers to be as good an Indy boot alternative as I. About 8 months ago I was at a local shoe store and I saw a pair of Skechers boots in medium brown with a moc toe styling. They were about 50 bucks and they had my size so I bought them.
Let me say, these suckers are built like iron. I have worn them for everything from a wedding (when they were brand new), to hiking, camping, and rock climbing. I've built a fence around three acres of property in them, I've worn them in the pouring rain (kept my feet dry), and I wear them every day to work where I spend 8 to 12 hours on my feet. They have always been comfortable, right from the start. They were a bit hot for the Texas summer, but tolerable.
Anyway, I checked the website, http://www.skechers.com , and there are about three or four styles of boots that would work as Indy boots. The best part is, they are only about $60 a pair.

I've always liked sketchers too, but man I wish they made one of those boots with a slightly thinner sole and heel, I think they over do the industrial sole thing.

True, so true. But they would give the grip necessary to do alot of adventuring. Illinois.

Yes, some of their styles have heavy soles, but the pair I bought had a standard work boot type sole. They are great for off-road travel.

Hi,

Could somebody post the link to the paticular boot you are speaking of? The name of the model would be helpful to me. I'm lost:)

I didn't see the model I bought on the website, but it's very similar to the Cool Cat Berenger:

The leather on my boots has a different finish, and I don't have the white stitching, but the style is almost identical.
