I recently picked up one of Paul’s, Whip handling & maintenance DVDs too and just wanted to add that I really thought it was one of the better basic cracking tutorial videos I have seen. It is very cut and dry, very easy to understand and follow along with. The maintenance section was a nice addition too. Whether your new to whip cracking or been doing it all your life, If you haven’t gotten a copy already I’d highly recommend adding it to your collection. Paul did a nice job with it.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words. Your comments reiterate what I was trying to accomplish when I made the video in the first place.

Since I'm moving, it only makes sense to get rid of as much stuff as I can, and that seemed like a good thing to do.

Now, let's all head over to e-bay and buy my @#$%! \:D/

(I couldn't resist putting that tagline in, because I thought it was funny).

Best Regards,

Paul Stenhouse

PS. November 1st will be the last time I'll take orders for them. After that, they are going away! So, please let me know if you are sending me $$ in the mail, so that I can reserve one to mail out. Otherwise, you'll get a return letter and no video.

Hi Holly,

I don't know yet, as I haven't even given that any thought. I still have the master tape from which to make copies, so that's no problem there. It'll be a matter of making the in either Region 1 or universal format, since I'm going to a Region 4 area (I think). I might just have to make them on an as-needed basis on my own computer!

I'd just like to echo the good words everyone is saying about Paul's video. I bought one a while back, and it is excellent.

Sorry, Paul, but now there will be a whole bunch of people wanting your DVD -- you'll just HAVE to make more!

Hi Randy,

Thanks for the kind words. I guess that'll be something I'll have to look into. Hopefully, being outside the US, getting a universal format won't be so hard.

If you can make them on your computer I don't see why there would be any problem with the region coding of the disks.

Yay! :D

Just received my Stenhouse Bullwhip DVD.
Very nice, step-by-step instruction.
It answered a lot of questions I had.
Thanks Paul.

Did you guys notice that when Paul's whip cracks, it smokes?
Cool instructional DVD.

IndyDoc,

Thanks for the information (I know whips, not computers).

Spooky, that's water flying off the cracker. It adds a great effect to the picture, eh? The grass was slightly wet when I filmed all that. And, a little water never hurt anyone.

Got mine yesterday. Its great! LOVED the opening shot with the Aldens and the gear. 8)

Got to put part of the tutorial to use, tying on a cracker. It worked beautifully and so much simpler than other methods I'd seen.

Also nice to know its not the end of the world if your whip gets wet.

Now, if I could just master that Horizontal crack...

I have already put Paul's dvd to good use. I only had it for a few days and GraveRobber lost his cracker and neither of us knew how to tie one on. To the dvd we went. Moments later, GraveRobber was cracking away, again. Thanks Paul.

Well, no. We haven't had to replace a fall, yet. Can't say that either of us is anxious to. Probably would have to be emailing you questions.

Paul, I was with Bufflehead and Graverobber over Halloween weekend and after watching the DVD I got three differeant cracks and a combo of two down in about two hours. I can now do them with either the left or right hand.

CR,

Good, good, it's all good! Now try doing them with your eyes closed. Once you are able to do so, you are ready to go out into the world, Grasshopper!

I suggest adding beer. It's a more natural feeling that putting the blast shield down.

(Really...in the dark backyard, a couple beers and suddenly I can pick guavas off the swingset. So don't mess with me after a couple beers...in the dark...in my backyard...if you're carrying guavas, anyway. )

In the front yard, though, that's a whole other story. ;)
