Trade Show Tie

Post by Jack Flanders »

So I'm going to a trade show and I have to wear a suit. I thought it would be fun to wear a bow tie, but not just any bow tie. That's right, I'm looking for a cheap 'close enough' to any of the non-dress bow ties Indy wore. I'm working from some bad photo references, but here's what I have so far:

And another candidate:

Discuss!

Are you looking for the LC one specifically, being red and all?
Or will the TOD do aswell, it being darker (grey?) as I recall it?

Looking for something red/burgundyish. Wasn't there a red/burgundyish one in Raiders too-- in the beginning?

I think he wore a tie in Raiders, actually. :-k

Here are a couple of shots from LC;
ONE
TWO
THREE

It looks kind of a shiny silk black/purple/red non-patterned one to me, though I am in the last days of my monthly eye contacts at the moment. ;)

Great pics Swindy!
Perfect timing as I'm looking into some of Indy's more formal gear now.

Jack,

I too think the bow tie is the better look. Any of the burgandy ones shown above would look fine. I think it's important to keep the spirit of the gear in the forefront and not get too caught up in matching the exact item.

Too right!
(Though some may disagree, but I'm not allowing THEM to read this thread through sheer force of will!)
...I settled on this one last night, the burg that is...
