The new AB block...

Hey gang,

got a hold of the prototype block from my blockmaker today and it is :clap: =P~ I pulled a beaver body over it immediately, so I will have the creasing result within a couple of days.

The block design has been modifyed ever so slightly and probably only Steve can tell a difference :wink: We have worked together on the changes and it is now my honor to put it through the testing phase.

Meanwhile I got message that my liners should be done within the next few weeks, so I took the plunge and went to the court house to declare The Adventurebilt Hat Co. (Germany) as officially in bussiness since yesterday :D

Thanks to all who have supported me with suggestions and best wishes on this long road of improvement of a product, that has become a new standard amongs many already.

What's the price list (again)?
I'm still awaiting answer from some suppliers, but will stick to the rules that Steve made, when founding the Adventurebilt Hat Co.

1. Use the best materials you can get (something I've spent more then six month on, to source)

2. Considering the cost of the materials used, make it affordable. This is from fans for fans (one of the reasons why you'll never find a non-gearhead making Adventurebilt hats).

3. If you don't stand up to or exceed the quality standards that have been created by the gearheads, you're out (those of you, who know me... :wink: )

Considering the (temporary) prices from my suppliers and taking advance of the fact that I do have a job to pay my bills already, I doing all I can to keep the price as low as possible. To give a final price for the AB-Deluxe at the current state of time, can only be used as a thumb rule, but as of now we're talking round about 300Euro (which is ~360 U.S.$).

Hey Mark: Great news in regards to the company name and the block making. I'm just wondering, As I'm about to purchase a block what those differences are and if they are being integrated in Steve's line?

:) Hehehe, sorry but that's confidential... What I can tell you, is that it has a TINY bit more dome in the front view, but pleae don't expect me to give any further details, as Steve and I have worked COUNTLESS hours on this block design.

We have now an exclusive contract with an extremely talented blockmaker, but that costs BIG money to have. In fact these blocks cost me three times as much as a regular open crown block :shock:

If the new design turns out to be even better then the current block shape, they will become part of Steve's line as time goes by as well.

Tought Nut to crack eh? :wink: , Awww Mark..Looks like I'm just going to have to try briber....um, "an incentive package" of beaver pelts, pure maple syrup and highly crafted moccassins? How about free accommodation in the remote north of Canada? Fresh Moose meat? All you can eat Wild rice? Canadian Passport? Citizenship? Need a really good government job? Ahhh!!!!! You've got to have a price.... :lol:

If that doesn't work toht might be of service? Hmmmmm..... :wink: :lol:

The question is still "Will Mark Crack" under the enormous pressure of accomodation, maple syrup and Maybe, "Just Maybe" free Canadian Back Bacon eh!!! :shock: :D :lol: :wink: .

Michealson...you already know you're welcome at my place any time, its just that incident when you were part of the free speech movement back at Berkly that makes the border crossing kind of tricky! :lol:

Bink's skills in forgery...I'm mean media manipulation could be helpful :-$ :wink: . Trouble is...he'll want to come with you. And as Canada has just a limited coffee bean supply, we'd have to get Jess to send us a couple of extra bags.

So...In the mean time we wait to see if Mark will spill beans eh! :wink:
