After 3 years I finally had the Alden 405s, that I bought from Fritz in Sherman Oaks, CA, on the day I attended my first Indy summit. Since moving back to the midwest, my Aldens haven't seen a lot use in the winter months due to their lack of tread. The heals were also worn out so I brought them to shoe maker near my office and here is the result. I'll be sure to let you know how they fare this winter!

Re: Alden Re-tread
PrettyBigGuy,
Great looking Aldens!
Did you use Brown Pecards on them?
That's what I use on mine and they have a similar burgundy color now.
I also notice you kept the outer threads white (so did I).
How much did your re-treads cost?
Looks terrific - now go muss them up a bit.
Best Regards,
Great looking Aldens!

Re: Alden Re-tread
They started out with the "russet" color (as you can see on the inside of the boot in the 1st pic) and I had them dyed. I have been thinking of using the brown pecards but I usuallu shine them with brown cream shoe polish and standard pecards. Also, the stitching is still because it's brand new!Spooky wrote:PrettyBigGuy,

Best Regards,
I was considering getting more of a waffle, combat boot sole, but I decided that these should give me plenty of traction without comprimising the original look.
