New guy just posting his gear
Hey gang,
Long time lurker, first time poster, though I do know a lot of you from the RPF.
I guess I'll introduce myself. My name is Fred, I'm 31, from New York and I'm a telecommunications analyst and network/fiber optic tech (i.e. cable monkey).
Here's a pic of most of my gear. An EC Whips 10 footer, a WPG bag and strap, resin S&W (lousy New York anti-gun nuts ) and an IMA holster.
Look forward to spending some time with you ladies and gents.
Until then, enjoy.
-Fred

Thank you very much, everyone. Unfortunately, my wallet belongs to the RPF .
For the WPG bag, I waited until it was raining, then stomped it in some mud. Then I balled it up and secured it with some rubberbands. Once it was completely dry, I beat it against a bick wall (the one behind it in the pic to be exact). Gave it a nice "lived in" look and didn't take too much effort.
The strap on the other hand is a different story. I took a knife and scraped that weird orange coating off. Next I hit it with some coarse sandpaper. Then I applied a coating of pecards and let it sit. Then a mix of brown and black shoe polish (very sparingly) and then more pecards. Finally, just some everyday use, and it's good as old. The strap's a loose as string.
Not pictured is my Akubra Fed Deluxe (fall and winter wear -too hot for summer/spring) and my J crews From way back when (got 2 pairs for $40 each).
I don't have a decent shirt or pants as I'm not exactly "indyesque" and there's nothing really decent (for the price anyway) for us larger folk.

Yeah, but it doesn't have to be that way, now does it? Tell you what, you can keep your wallet. Just leave me the cash inside it. You can see these guys have my...er, your best interests at heart, right?gigatron2k wrote:Thank you very much, everyone. Unfortunately, my wallet belongs to the RPF .
Welcome to C.O.W.! We truly are a mad bunch in here, but that's what makes it so much fun. Stick around!

Good looking gear, I especially like the holster. Thats' the best WPG bag strap I've seen too! (with your help of course)
Deckers are my favorite close enoughts too, with the RedWing Centenials(?) coming in a close second. I may be selling all (or most) of my close enoughs now I've found some Aldens, so keep an eye on classifeds TRH.
