Why the extra 1" in front?
I am going to be ordering a Wested soon as a birthday gift. I want to get this jacket right when I place my order. I have noticed on the specs of some guys jackets that they get an extra inch added to the front. Why? Just curious.

You don't have to have a bit of a stomach to benefit from the added 1
inch in the front of the jacket.
If you go to the main page of this site, and look at the side-by-side
pictures of both Wested and Flightsuits jackets, you can see that the
people in the pictures do not have a "gut", but in their side view pictures
the jackets are riding up some. The extra inch would stop that from
happening.
If your the type of person who tends to stand up straighter than most
people do, then you will benefit from the extra inch. If you slouch, then you
would not see the ride-up as much.
I do not have a gut, nor do I slouch. I had the extra length added into
my Wested because the first one I ordered rode-up and did not look that
good.
I added in an extra 1.5 inches, and it looked so much better that I have
done that to every custom leather jacket I have ordered for myself
since. And that list includes an Aero Redskin B-3, An Aero Californian
jacket, and Real McCoys B-6.
And all of them look better with the extra material in the front. They all
look more "even" versus jackets I have without the extra material.
And thats when they are both zipped and unzipped.
I would not buy any leather jackets without it.

Let us not confuse one extra inch added to the front of the jacket to hide 'ride up' compared to a Temple of Doom style jacket that is is bit longer than a Raiders jacket.Indiana Kev wrote:Is the added 1.5 inches a certain style of jacket (such as TOD) or is it just something you can have put on the raiders as well?
I guess you can have what ever length you want, depending on what measurements you send to Wested.
I did not add the inch to my Raiders jacket and see no indication of ride up.

It can be requested on any jacket.Indiana Kev wrote:Is the added 1.5 inches a certain style of jacket (such as TOD) or is it just something you can have put on the raiders as well?
But Honestly, I don't quite know what to make of the extra 1". I've seen some people that needed it, some that don't. I ordered it on my jacket, but I kinda wish I didn't.
P.S. Good point Al!
For longer jackets, it's not quite as noticeable. Since TOD is only one inch longer than Raiders, depending where the jacket falls, it could be a benefit. (Wested jackets made today are generally a bit larger and longer than seen on screen)Is the added 1.5 inches a certain style of jacket (such as TOD) or is it just something you can have put on the raiders as well?
