I recently got an airsoft Marushin Mauser Broomhandle. It looks quite good apart from the phony looking wood grips.
A tip if you want one - order from a Hong Kong dealer, it worked out less expensive.

Beautiful!

Now all you need to do is hacksaw the front sight off, fit a flash supressor and a scope and you have a great Han Solo blaster!

There were only two times that the 'wow' factor ever kicked in for me in the gun trade (I used to be a dealer many MANY years ago). One was when a stach of model 1937 Brazilian contract Smith and Wesson HE's were found in the mid 1980s, and the second occured in the late 70's when a stash of still in the cosmolene broomhandle mausers were discovered in Russia! They were sold for peanuts, and in three grades (nothing lower than 'good' due to possible surface rust from storage).
Even the wood grips were mint! The ad appeared in 'Shotgun News', and my jaw dropped when I read the ad.

& yes, Churchill did use one. Infact, because he'd pretty much buggered his shoulder playing polo & couldn't weld a saber properly, during one particular cavalry charge he took part in, he used his Mauser instead of a sword like everyone else!

jweaver, yes I take it out from time to time ( to the range). It was found somewhere ( I don't remember were ) but it was part of a shipment sent to japan. It was never in use it just needed a couple of springes repalced and blued.

i hacked up my mauser to make hans empire blaster. I foudn a site that sold the mauser for only $46 if im remembering correctly. The conversion kit was 100 so total it cost about 150. I had to have it sent to my friends house in RI though because of the strict gun laws in CT, but it was worth it, i love my blaster.

My first handgun was a Broomhandle in 7.62x25. What a great gun! It even came with the wooden shoulder stock/holster. Amazingly, it seemed that no matter how I held the gun the ejected shells would always hit me on the head. It was also quite accurate when fired from a rest. If you've got one, don't ever sell it.
