Just bashed a gray Akubra

Post by prairiejones »

I recieved the gray Akubra that I got my father-in-law yesterday.
After making sure it fit him, I bashed it today.
Here is a hat row of four of the five hats that I have bashed.
Three Akubras and one Adventurebilt.
The only one missing is my father's Akubra.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. The other hats are good looking hats but not next to the Adventurebilt. It just stands out ( what a great hat) and you did a fine job on all of them.

Great looking set of hats, Prairie.
How long did it take you to bash the new gray?

I bet your father-in-law is very pleased.

Man that AB really does stand out! Maybe its the camera angle, but those Akubras have a lot of taper. I swear my dad's Fed isn't that tapered. :?

Well, I started at around noon, pinched around on it, got the tough spots wet, pinched some more, worked on the brim. So off and on for a half hour. I took the pic at around 2 pm. It's almost six now, and I was just tweaking it some more. I'll deliver it to the wearer tomorrow.

It likely somewhat due to the angle, but since the Akubra block is much rounder on top than the AB, the Akubra rounds itself in up top. Great job, PJ!
