I just got my Aldens a couple of weeks ago after a 4 1/2 month wait from the company. I love them and I don't think that I am going to change the colour. When I was ordering them I had asked about different colours and was told that they can do it but it is an extra $150.00. The colour now is darker than the old pumpkin they used to have, it is more of a medium brown with a slight red hue to it. I've heard it referred to as brick colour, here in the forum and that is an accurate way to describe them.
How long did it take for them to really break in? Mine fit well but can somtimes hurt my ankle so I have to keep them a little loose. They sqeak too.

It took me a few weeks to break mine in. However, it wasn't really until school started and I began wearing them daily that they really "molded" to my feet. Also, the only time I lace my boots to the top is when I'm hiking. Otherwise, I leave the top row open.Jimdiana wrote:How long did it take for them to really break in?
after a VERY long time of searching,
ive found them. The dark brown 405's
I ended up finding black cap toes along with them,
which i am going with instead, since ive always loved
cap toes. http://www.aldenshoe.com/cat_ortho_trub.htm

Underneath where it says turbalance last,
it says dark brown.
The pictures look bleached out,
as theres no color in the sole exe.
Turns out, theres a store 30 minutes away that
CARRIES the indy boot, and ill be heading there to try
out the boot.

BTW, I own a pair of the blacks ones. They are called the 86s. They are not as sturdy and as "rugged" as the 405s. Same pattern but they are more along the lines of a dress shoe.

Hey Mola Ram, if it's cap-toe style boots you are after, I know of a better looking and more 'rugged' (but still nice) captoe boot. I don't have the website with me right now, but if you haven't gone with the Aldens yet, I'll get a pic and link posted tomorrow. These boots are super cool and really nice quality (they are also about 3 bones!) but well worth it, just like Aldens.
have a nice day.
