US source for weatherproof bag straps?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

US source for weatherproof bag straps?

Post by Floribama Steve »

Here's the deal. I've been thinking about this while looking at the different strap offerings on the net. I sweat more than anyone I know, which, coupled with the southern humidity, would cause me to go through bag straps quicker than most. I use my MK VII all the time, so I want a really good strap. So my question is, is there a US source for weatherproof leather straps?

why not try the bag strap available at Texas Action Gear - unfortunately the website seems to have problems - I can't open it.

I think they said something that the bag strap will not fade out. I have one and like it very much but I haven't tested it in humid climate yet.

TAG has closed it's doors. Read his announcement in the vendors announcement area.

I emailed Todd at Todd's Costumes about his deluxe strap, I think I'll go with that.

Thanks for the suggestion though Pandora. I never got to see TAG, but from what I've heard I'm sad it's closed.

Does anyone know the likelyhood that TAG will be back? I wanted to buy a strap from them. If it looks like they are gone for good, I may as well buy it from Todd's Costumes. It appears that people think they are the second best source for straps.

How sturdy are Todd's bag straps? I know that they note that their straps are sealed to prevent staining on clothing. Is there anyone who can attest to this. I don't want to be out roughing it and have my sweat cause the strap to stain my shirt.

Todd's straps are fantastic! NO way is he second best to anything! I've seen my share of the straps offered and Todds is the most solid I've found. Solid, no color transfer, good color on all areas of the strap, strongest leather I've seen. You WILL NOT be unhappy with his strap!

have a nice day.

I can second that regarding Todd: Just got my fingers of my first Indy piece, the bag... Just took 8 days from US to Norway.

What points in the direction Todd being high service shop to buy from is the fact that I was a complete idiot ordering!

I manage to put in an order which only contained oversea shipping!! No problem, sendt panic mail, got calm down mail in minutes (and this was on a Sunday!) and how to fix...

And not only that, without asking they made the order 'a gift' without me asking for it. Importance is if not I would have to have paid custom here in 'even if the richest small country after switzerland going to tax you like &¤%#' Norway.

I am propably going to throw some more money in the Todd direction.

Bag great I think by the way!
