How was the Lucky Lighter prop made?

OK, let's put screen used prop stuff out of the picture. Heres the deal-I want to make a lucky lighter prop. How do you think the original was made? Could I just take a zippo, paint the sides white, and then paint the clover, and put clear nail polish, etc. over it? I know of Relic raider's badges which look awesome, but I'd kind of like a more hand made look to it.

Anyone try this?

The sides of the original prop appear to have been painted with a thick white semiglossy paint, like poster paint. The clover may have been painted on with acrylic paint, and the outline and black detail may have been done with a fine black marker.

About the handmade look: handmade does not necessarily mean rough and sloppy, although in the original Zippo prop's case it does. I believe that nobody who looks at my badges will think the badges could possibly have been massproduced by a machine. The movie prop can get away with looking rough and sloppy, because it's never shown really close or for more than a moment.
You can take a white address label, trace the shape of the lighter, cut the label out and paint a clover as accurate or as sloppy as you like on it. Cut the label in two halves, peel the label and stick it on a Zippo. For protection, you could also laminate this homemade sticker before putting it on.

Here's the one I just made last weekend.

I did it pretty much like RR said. I didn't like the hand painted look of the white though, so I got some "appliance white" spray paint and masked the edges of the lighter. I hand painted the clover though. If you mess up or don't like your paint job you can just get some lacker thinner and wipe it of pretty easily and start over. (takes off all the paint, not just the clover)
