TOD and Raiders straps? A difference? Kepplers timing? Oil?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

TOD and Raiders straps? A difference? Kepplers timing? Oil?

Post by Vannevar »

Hi guys, I did a search and couldnt see anything relating to a specific comparison of the straps. I realise there is a "creased" varient but I dont understand how they relate. Is it just the roller?

Second question, when obtaining a bag strap I have read the oils can seep into clothing. This is why I was getting a TAG strap (he discussed this point but nobody else seems to have). But they just went defunct, at least temporarily. Whats the best choice to prevent clothing damage? I read keppler can sometimes take months to respond to an order. Is this correct?

Thanks for the link, Vannevar.
Haven't heard of them before.

BTW, if you are considering a whip holder, K on the Run makes a very nice non-slip holder.

Hi guys,

Yep http://lost-ark.net is run by myself and 'Templar', having sold to many
members over the last few years now, we do pride ourselves on the items
we sell.

Haven't posted on the forum for some time as I have been moving house
again and abroad for a few weeks. But good to see you guys 'discovered'
the site :)

Not me! I'm the other Templar! I didn't know there was a Templar registered here untill too late. Lucky I'd decided to Knight myself!

ID I was thinking about dropping you a line.... where are you based? And can you source any of those fine web belts in your pics? The ones I have found don't cut it.

Regards,

KT Templar.

I wouldn't worry KT, the 'other' Templar doesn't post here too much so
not too much chance of confusion

I am now based in Epsom, Surrey, so not too far from your good self.
The web belts on the site are actually imported from the US (by Ob1al
last/previous year), but I haven't managed to find a good substitute yet,
although many shops seem to be stocking similar belts this season in
the UK, they are mostly "not quite" right. Therefore, I'm afraid we are
dealing only in leather gear for the moment.

Well, I am literally just down the road - working in New Malden.

Is this a sideline or your main job?

lol, a stone throw away.

The site is very much a hobby sideline for me, but Templar is a full-time
traditional leather craftsman, working in a old Knights Templar Preceptory
based in Cornwall - Hence we got our name for the range we sell.

BTW: 'The Somer Isles' shown in my profile location is the old name for
Bermuda, which is where I was living/working when I discovered this site.
I decided it was more 'romantic' to leave it such than change to boring
Surrey :)

indiana_dudley -

Is your site working at the moment? None of the pics will load for me (just a bunch of red 'x's).

Thanks,
J

EDIT: Nevermind...working fine again now. Probably just a server update in progress when I was trying to access, since it persisted for about 15 minutes, then just cleared up. If it happens again, or more persistently, you might want to look into that. :)

No prob. Hopefully it was just me, just then. It looks fine again at the moment. I might have just been *lucky* and stepped on the monthly backup.

I can vouch for indiana-dudley, just ordered a bag strap and whip holder from him and recieved them within a couple of days - highly recommended.
