a slightly ot leather question

Post by Vannevar »

Hey guys, I posted some time ago in the grail diary forum about how to look after the leather cover on the diary and got no response. This being the leather coat forum and that some of you might have the dairy I thought this was the best place to turn. Will pecards soften it and not keep the cover tight or what? Does it need maintance?

Thanks chaps.

I haven't treated my diary cover (it's a Magnoli diary), however, since it is leather, I would imagine that just about any leather lotion or gel would be beneficial.

Indy, correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I believe that the leather used in the aforementioned diary is cowhide, although it is very soft.

My diary cover has become more loose and well aged with handling, but if you don't want it to age too fast, you may try Wilson's leather lotion. It's not too thick, and leather only requires a light application.

Thanks Flattery.
Interesting ...
I myself have been using Pecard's on all my Indy leather with good results (whip, jacket, alden's, lighter pouch, whip holder, etc.) ... plus cowhide items (boots, old belts, etc.).
It's the leather version of Robitussin!
