Well, make no mistake the lambskin is the softest leather out of the box.
The authentic goat is usually somewhat stiffer initially - not excessively so, but in comparison to the lamb - but after a little wear it softens up very nicely. My goatskin jacket is maybe 4 months old, and it is as supple and soft as I could wish for.
Read some posts about the various leathers, lots of opinions and experiences always help.
Wait until I get my horse, then decide. Horse is a far more expensive leather at other dealers - so it represents senasational value through Wested for just an extra 10 pounds - and is also what Indy's jacket would have been made of, if Indy was real. Mull that over and cross your fingers that my jacket arrives soon...
I described to Gemma that the measurment was taken from the wrist joint to the very beginning of the thumb, she said that was correct, no mention of first knuckle was made.
Which is correct? first knuckle, or beggining point of your thumb?
The first knuckle measurement is correct. If you measure to your wrist, it'll look great standing still with your hands by your side, but as soon as you lift your arms, you'll be seeing a lot of your arm.
