I really want a lambskin jacket (mainly because of the weight) but it seems from the (small) samples that I got from Wested that the goatskin has a more pronounced grain - which i like. Is this true? I love the wrinkles, the more the better so which one has or developes the most character over time?, or are they about equal (over time). Seems like everyone always comments on how soft and "smooth" the Lambskin is. Maybe someone with both could comment and/or post pictures? TIA.

If it were my money, I'd go for the goatskin all the way....
I've owned a lambskin Indy jacket (well, I still own it, but I don't use it that frequently anymore), and it ripped so many times I couldn't believe that I spent that much $$ on something that fragile.
I'm one of those accident-prone types, lol, and my goatskin Indy jackets have held up just nicely with no problems whatsoever. As far as grain is concerned, I have one of my goatskin Indy jackets sitting right by my computer. And by looking at it, you could swear that it was lambskin. Its grain and texture feel remarkably similar to lambskin, yet, made of goatskin durability.
The choice is up to you, this was just my experience/suggestion. Best wishes on your decision!
Kind Regards,
