Wested's Coming!!! - Wested arrived!!!

Post by Harrison_Davies »

Hi peeps,

New to the forum.

Also so excited, I should be receiving my wested jacket this week, and I can't wait. :D

I have ordered:

Authentic brown lamb.
Satin Body/Sleeves (My mistake!)

Indy Pants and shirt.

Well it was free postage.

I will post pictures as soon as I can (Before it's asked )

Only thing left to worry about is will it fit?

Regards,

Thanks,

I thought why not...but was 15 days between ordering the jacket and deciding to add the pants/shirt to the order.

Gemma is a doll!

Welcome to the forum, Harrison.

Congratulations on your Wested! :D
Be sure to post pics when it arrives.

I have satin body/sleeves on my FS Goat.
When I order a Wested (someday), I will probably get cotton body, satin sleeves
(however, I would still like more opinions on the pros/cons).

Hi,

Can I ask how does the all Satin perform?

Is it too hot, or is it just nice?

Wested Jacket Arrived!!!

Post by Harrison_Davies »

OMG it's here!

Gemma didn't say it was coming, so after all one of those jackets was mine.

I'm so happy the smell is wonderful.

It seems a perfect fit, maybe slightly out on the chest, but i did ask for a little extra for undergarments.

I think I will go with a zipped inside pocket for my next Wested (goat), this one seems to push out the leather a little....but who cares it arrived.

I will post pics later...after i have savoured this moment.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome.

I ordered 16th August 2005. Ooh that was quick.

Gemma said 21 days. And 21 days it was WOW!

There is only one problem with this jacket, and it's visible ;(

The right sleeve's seam is twisted so appears at the top of the arm instead of the side, compared to the left.

Disappointing, but these things happen. If anyone has any solutions or ideas to fix this without resrting to speaking to Peter, I'd love to know.

Regards,

P.S. I couldn't resist, her eis a pic taken witha camera phone - not so good, but better pics soon.

http://www.geocities.com/harrison_davies/HD.bmp excuse the poor quality, ill fitting £35 fedora - As I said in another post I want an HJ, till now this piece of junk will do.

Looks great. I can't see the sleeve problem that you mentioned. Something like that would be a huge problem for me as I would have to ship it all the way back across the pond to have it fixed. Considering where you live, I would just take it back to Peter and have him fix it.

I would not wear the jacket until I took it to Peter. That seam is not on the top of the sleeve of my jacket, and I don't think it is supposed to be where it is in that photo.

I also think that the sleeves are a little short for a Raiders jacket. I think if you take it back to Peter, he will fix it up for you.

Not what you want to hear, I am sure. But, you will be happier in the end if you just go ahead and take care of it.

Thanks,

I've emailed Peter with my problems, shall await his reply.

Only issue is i'm 272 miles away from peter or there abouts.

Cheers,

I'm going to return the jacket for a replacement with longer arms. Hopefully that will solve the seam issue also.

However since I have worn this for about 12 hours does that invalidate my return?

I ask you because I may have gotten on Gemma's nerves today :(

Unless you did it some damage, it shouldn't! They are, after all, replacing the sleeves. Take a breather, and call back if you need to (apologies for obsessing if you need to :)). I'm sure Gemma will understand.
