Ruggeds + Pecards

Post by Ark Hunter »

I just got some J Crew Ruggeds the other day and have worn them around for a couple days. Last night I put some Pecards on them and it really darkened them up and made them look even better. The "dusty" brown/red color was ok, but I like the darker brown, still with a hint of red, that they've become. If it lightens up a(with dirt and dust) I'll match this pretty well.

I think it also sofened them up a good bit (or I'm getting used to them or they broke in in two days).

You can see some other Ruggeds in this thread. See Feraud's post

I think those are pretty "normal" Rugged color. They look a bit darker than mine started out, but it may just be the lighting.

Here's the picture.

I just recieved a pair of these monday and I can see a huge difference in color compared to the dirty dusty brown they come as to the reddish alden like color you achieved. Did you use plain pecards or a colored kind? I may experiment with this myself and post pics.

Nice job IndyDoc! The Pecard's has made a world of difference in the boots. I have to put a coat or two on mine!
Thanks for the tip.

Ummm.... :-k ....I don't think that exactly narrowed it down. Did you use the Pecard's leather dressing, leather lotion, leather jell, or boot oil. I understand that you didn't use the colored shoe polishes, and I think you mean that you used the leather dressing with the bees wax in it, but I am not real sure. 'Ya gotta love Pecard's, a product for any kind of leather.

The jell is the product that REALLY helps relax stiff leather. Nice boots!! Regards! Michaelson

It's the Classic Leather Dressing. (that you might use on your jacket or whip normally)

Unless you have an authentic lamb, in which case you would use the lotion. I understand now.

Man! Those look good! I really want a pair of those boots. Does anyone know whether JCrew will offer them again, or do they follow the fickle hand of fashion, and only sell things for one season?

Otherwise, is there any other way to get a pair? Besides the classifieds, which I am already trying: viewtopic.php?t=13559.

Seems like I was one of the last to get a pair of J. Crews, but you never know when they'll bring them back. Last time it just seemed out of the wild blue.
...

I'm definitely getting some Pecards for my boots.
