Reblocked, Turned, And Rebashed My HJ!

Post by Indiana Wayne »

Today before school, I was thinking about having my HJ reblocked, but after JPenman told me that the brim could be torn off the hat while being reblocked, I decided to reblock my HJ at home. I was looking for something to use as a hat block. I found something that I could use that had straight sides. So, I sprayed the hat with water and put it on the block. After school I pulled the hat off of my block to find the sides are, or almost straight! My blocked worked! I did not lose any crown height like JPenmans HJ. The hat is still a little wet. I will take some pictures later tomorrow. Tomorrow night I am going to reblock my AB! My HJ still has front and back taper, But I really don't care, as long as the sides are straight. I am not going to tell you what I used as a hat block. I will let you guess. I am going to turn and bash my hat Raiders using Pageys tutorial.

Nice going! Keep in mind though that you should let let hat dry on the block. If you pull it off while it's wet, felt might return to it's tapered state.
What did you use as block?

I put the hat back on the block a minute after I took it off.

I was going to guess his head at the same time that you posted, SJ. I think that is why he tried to take it off the block, so he wouldn't have to wear a wet hat to bed. I am afraid that if it is true, we will have to call him a blockhead.

 Maybe he has to change his COW handle?
Well, Bufflehead, if the hat got a nice shape, imagine all the reblock requests Mr. Wayne will get! Lot's of wet hats on that head in the future...

Hats should be left on the block for about a week before removing or they will return to their original shapes as SJ said.

The day after tomorrow I am going to take it off the block, add the brim curl, and bash it. The day after I take it off the block I am going distress it to make it look more like the Cairo hat. Then I will post some pictures.
