Well I've finally got my image hosting issues sorted out (temporarily & with thanks to the good friend involved :D ) & some pictures worth sharing (thanks to my girlfriend for taking them :notworthy: ) so...

COW exclusive teaser pics, as Renderking has nabbed the rights to host the complete photo-diary of my travels round China & Mongolia this summer on his website 8)

Bear in mind......this is my first ever fedora, let alone AB!

Longmen Caves, Luoyang, China.

Naturally distressing my Wested riding the steppes on a little Mongolian horse. Small...but fast!

Not bad for a first time fedora wearer huh? \:D/

Big kudos goes to Steve/Fedora & Peter @ Wested as well of course :notworthy:

I never knew you went to Asia - what a fantastic place to break in the hat. It looks good - especially with the horse!!

Thanks Ken & JW.

Yeah, went for 6 weeks to China & Mongolia.

I'm big into horse riding (at least I was until my back got bad a few years ago) & I had some fantastic experiences out there riding their horses, including a herders horse at one of the provincial Nadaam festivals, which was awesome! :D

You get to go to Mongolia! I am SO jealous now! :o Well I suppose Mongolia would be a great place to break in your gear. All the history, all the adverse climates! =P~ I've GOT to go there sometime! Great pix btw. Really makes me wish I was there. :junior: -IJ

Skippy,

Great pics. I am going to have to show these to my wife. She is very interested in a lot of things about China. I am sure that she would love to go there some day. Be sure to let us know when they are all up on the Fedora Chronicles.

The bad back is an occupational hazard. Trust me.

Skippy, those are absolutely amazing pics! I love the gear, but this is why I really come to COW! Yours and Indiana Ken's and Farnham54's adventures are what it is really all about: getting out there and doing it!

I'll be watching the Fedora Chronicles closely! Can't wait to hear the stories that go with the pics (and see more pics, of course)!

Impressive pics. Reminds of the book "Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs," in which Indy had many adventures in Mongolia.

I just sent Skippy the test page to see if he likes the direction the page is going for his approval. If he likes what he sees, I’ll give him the honor’s of giving you folks the link.

This is going to be an amazing read for everyone. I also owe him a lot of thanks for letting me host the Chronicle of his adventure.

Who else do I owe a page to?

Ok, you got me! Proof that when I multi-task... mistakes are bound to happen.

I hope Skippy doesn't find the similar mistakes on his page I just made for him!

Thanks everyone for the kind words & compliments, but first & foremost it really is "hats off" to all of you for being part of such a friendly & informative forum.

If I have great gear it's because of the knowledge, shared experiences, help, guidance & skills of the members & vendors here, for which I am VERY greatful :notworthy:

YIKES! Now Ren has created a front page, I really will have to follow through! :-s

It's SO neat to see photos like this that aren't photoshopped...but are real folks doing real things at real places. Makes one proud. :D Regards! Michaelson

Great pics! Do you get out to China often?

Talk about breaking in the hat...just taking it thru the airport and stuffing it in the overheard will break it in and then some!
