Pictures Of My Reshaped AB. Not Reblocked.
Here are some pictures of my AB that I have reshaped four times.
Here is a picture of it when I received it. It looked like this until it tapered.
Here are some pictures after I was in HEAVY rain for TWO HOURS. It tapered and that was when I started to reshape it.
Here is a picture after the first time I reshaped it. I made a tighter pinch.
Here is a picture after the second time I reshaped it. I made a ToD style pinch. It is not open crown in this picture. It just looks it.
Here is a picture after the third time I reshaped it. I made a tighter pinch again, but not as tight as the first time I reshaped it.
Here is a picture after the fourth time I reshaped it. I changed the center dent and the pinch. This is how it looks now.
I received it on Mon Apr 18, 2005. It tapered on Wed Jun 08, 2005.
A Reblock: Does anybody know how much it cost for a reblock? Also do I just send the hat back to Fedora with some money for a reblock and to ship it back? I sent him a PM, but he never replied.
Thanks.
Here is a picture of my “Flying V” bow.
Sorry the picture is big. I can't resize it.
Note: I made the “Flying V” on my bow.
Here are some pictures that I never posted before.
The Liner.
My Initials.

I think Steve will do a reblock for around $10. But i'm sure he'll step in and set us straight.
Wayne, I think you should add in the part about you getting caught in a 2 hour downpour. I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about the rabbit felt. Any hat will taper if it really gets drowned like yours did.

From another thread.

If I put something under the sweatband and still wore it lower on my head, it would make the hat look tapered. If I had something under the sweatband in heavy rain for two hours, and still wore the hat lower of my head, the hat would taper and I think this is what happened. Does all of this makes sense?

I added a picture of my "Flying V" bow, the liner, and my initials. I have stiched the bow on Twice. There is no liner in the hat right now, but I hope to stich it back in soon.

Looks like a TOD fedora. Here are the charges on reblocks. If I can use your sweat, and liner, 10 bucks plus 7 shipping. Or 17 bucks. The best way to go is to just have it refurbished. Reblock, new sweat, new ribbon, new liner. Price is 35 bucks total. I am just charging what I pay for the added parts. And I offer this as a service to Indy fans. Later on, I will up the price on the site, for refurbishments, but will still keep them the same price here. Most folks get a good bit for these services, as you basically have to remake the hat!! Kinda, sorta. Takes as much time to reblock one as it does to make one! That is why they charge so much. Me, I used to do these for free, that is if you wore my size. Heck, that is how I learned much of the craft. It was a mutual satisfaction deal. You got a free reblock, I got to see all kinds of felt, and brands, and sharpened my hatmaking skills. It was an eye opener. Now, with all of that said, I will not reblock just any hat. My list has been cut down over the last 8 months. Some hat/brands/felt are disposable hats. You will tear the hat up, trying to reblock. Or, the dye will wash out!! You send me a brown hat, you get a gray one back!!! I am serious. Before anyone wants a reblock, just pm or email me and I can give you a yes or no anwser. I will not say it publically, anymore. I really will not list the disposable hats, due to the fact that I make hats, and that just would not sound right coming from me. That is the hard part about being a vendor, and the biggest hat fan on this board. (one of the biggest anyways.) It was easier when I posted as just Fedora. Fedora
