Here's why the TOD plane hat is so tapered
This belongs with Indywannabe's "Screenused" post, but the topic of the huge taper of this hat comes up so often.... The top right rear of that hat is mashed in, which is what gives the hat all it's taper. Try it on your own hat. ..So basicly, the cockpit hat is the regular TOD hat with a mash-in. .............See?... My screen grabs aren't that bad if I don't zoom in on the telescope line or something.

Well, the crumpled back of the Tri-Motor hat is not a new discovery - it has been mentioned virtually every time the ToD taper's been discussed, in several old threads.
Yes indeed - here's a pic of my old HJ, before I had it "Fedora'd" and sold...Pyroxene wrote:However....I have seen my fair share of hats that look exactly like the one below with out any help from the styling of the hat.

Yeah! Wires in the LC hat! Or maybe they like to fold the hat in half, front to back and sit on it for hours....Indidana Wayne's hat looks like it has a pencil, not a wire, in it's brim.? Both those LC "wires" seem to be even with front of the ears, like the one on the Raiders hat.. ...Dakota, I guess I missed that thread. Both you and Pagey mentioned that Willie mashed the hat in that one. There were a lot of screen shots in the post, but it looks like I'm the FIRST TO POST A PIC of the actual mashed-in crown... Anyone ever posted a pic of it before, Scandinavia?? ......... ..Fedora, here's the hat still in the Ford Tri-motor, being worn regularly, not as a sleep aid or mashed by Willie..looks like the regular TOD hat to me.

Well, if it matters to you, sure, you posted the first screengrab of a side view of the hat, $3K...3thoubucks wrote:There were a lot of screen shots in the post, but it looks like I'm the FIRST TO POST A PIC of the actual mashed-in crown... I merely stated that the reason for the extreme taper in the Tri-Motor scene has been mentioned lots of times before... no biggie. Post away!
