I love Sorrento. It is a beautiful town. As is the rest of the Costa d'Amalfi. I had some Lemoncello there that I will never forget.

As for the "English Panamas," it is a bit of a contradiction in terms. True Panamas come from Montecristi in Ecuador. Any "Panama" made anywhere else, is merely a straw hat.

I bought my Panama from Panama Bob and am very happy with it: high quality hat at affordable prices. Who could ask for more?

Erri it is nice to see you back.

Hey thanks! That's quite generous of you. It looks like I am in for the spring. I can't swing it for fall, but I am going to try to make the QM instead. So, look for me in Italy in May, God willing.

Real Montecristi Panama Hats

Post by SHARPETOYS »

Many of us here have bought Real Panama hats from Montecristi Bob. Last year he had several IJ style hats woven for us.

That would be great if we could pull that off. I know that Ian, English Adventurer, would go as well. :D

Is that style listed on the web page? I can't see it there. Also by IJ do you mean the fedora or Brody's hat?

Hey SHARPETOYS, I'd love to see those pics. The link won't open any pics for me. Not sure if its because it was posted in 2004

And do the really go for that much, or is that some mistake, if it's correct, man I might have really start a saving account for one of those. I've always wanted to get one for the hot / humid days.

So far so good.

There will be only one fineness level this time. No FEDEX.

Price will be around $200.00 blocked, 175.00 unblocked.
