Wested Survival Kit

Post by Indiana »

Being the owner of a new Wested now, I often think of keeping it safe, so it will last me as long as possible. What are a few good things to ALWAYS keep in your jacket pockets? So far I have:

A small disposable rain poncho (keep it dry in a downpour)
Small container of Pecards

What else do you guys keep in your jacket pockets?

Oh yeah, I also stuff a few dollars in the inner pocket--just in case. As well as my zippo.

PS (Off topic) Does LuckyLighter still make the zippo badges?

Same type that I've got. You don't have to worry about it. Goats are known not only for the toughness (I've fallen off a moving vehicle with mine) but their rain-resistance as well. If it gets rained on, don't worry. It won't melt. Just put a coat of pecards on it after it's been hanging up for a couple hours. :junior: -IJ

Yea, my Wested is a goat also. It can really take a lot of rain. It has to be exposed to a downpour for a decent amount of time before it starts to absorb any water.

Since I really have 6 pockets on my wested with the extra inner, who knows what I could fit in that thing(maybe a sandwich or two).

Seriously, this is what I plan to carry in it:

Small Pocketknife
Wallet(see Wested Security thread)
Moleskine notebook
Lucky Lighter(with an LED insert)
Paperback novel

Do you really floss, btw? I didn't think anyone actually did. :P

Yes, I really floss! I carry the tiny round sampler floss the dentist gives out after a visit. That's my backup to the Denta-Tape at home.

Didn't you see Austin Powers?

Flossing gets gets 90% of the stuff and a toothbrush gets the other 10%. (I use a Sonicare)

Are you saying that you DON'T floss ? :)

Relic Raider Makes Fantastic ones. I have a set of them and they seem to be holding up very well.

And where, pray tell, did you get those? Mind scanning one so we can see it?

Randy

(Still in search of a proper nickname -- I'm in Arizona, so maybe Arizona Jones, Indyzona Jones, Arizona Stokes, etc. -- maybe I should take a poll -- name the newbie!)

I'd like to carry chopsticks, but I've broken two sets so far and one was brought from Japan. :(

I'd like to find a collapsable set but the ones I've seen at REI and the Net look really cheap.

Gotta do the sushi thing once a week!
