Federation owners-Brim dimensions?

Post by prairiejones »

I got to looking at my brim and just noticed something. The front and back measure a little over 2 1/2 inches while the sides measure a little over 2 3/4. This doesn't seem right. Are others Federations measuring this way, or did they mess up on my hat?

That's what I'm saying. I'm trying to see if others are like this. If they aren't, I've got a bone to pick with hatsdirect.

Prairie,

I just measured mine: Front and Back are 2 7/8" and the sides are 2 5/8".

Sounds like yours was cut incorrectly, Prairie! The standard dimensional cut IS wider front and back, narrower sides. Regards! Michaelson

THanks for the info. I have an email into hatsdirect asking them what the demensions should be. Hopefully there can be some recourse. THe brim is the one thing that buggs me about the hat. I was looking at the top center bash when I noticed that it looked strange.

Yeah, the brim dimensions are supposed to me 2 7/8 by 2 3/4. We suggested these to Ron when me, Michaelson, Indydawg and MK were getting Ron to have Akubra create this hat for us fans. Sometimes mistakes happen, even with precision hatmaking equipment. Fedora

Oh, sounds like 3M$ got ahold of that hat!!! The infamous, 90 degree turn. :D Regards, Fedora

I can hear Akubra now.....'the hat brim IS dimensionally cut....we just never said in which direction!'

I'm sorry, I'm not laughing AT your situation, Praire....this is just one of the more unusual one's I've read for a while of a vendor's mistake. Like Fedora says, they happen, but this one's a duzy!

I'm sure Ron will straighten it out for you.

Regards! Michaelson

I snapped this picture of Prarie while he was distressing his hat, so maybe it is on sideways!
