To reblock, or not to reblock?

Post by Flattery »

I'm 99% positive I want to have my AB reblocked, but I wanted to run it past the experts.

The fit of the hat in front and back is just fine; I wouldn't have it any other way. The shape is great, there's no taper (when I have it on -- there's an almost barely noticeable taper when I have it off), but there's still a smidge of room on the sides at my temples and above my ears. It's not so much that I can fit a finger in there and touch my head, but it's enough that I can see a little bit of the sweatband if I look straight forward in a mirror.

My take on this is, if the hat is not touching the sides of your head, it is too big. If your head is a long oval, in a reg. oval hat, and the size is right, your head should push the front and back outward, causing the sides to touch. You would then be replicating what Ford's head does to his hat. Swoop. Just my two cents. Fedora
