Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale

Post by parsa »

Nordstrom has double pleated Faconnable cotton twill chinos with flap pockets for 45.90. They come in taupe as well as khaki and stone (at least in the store, the web site doesn't seem to have the other colors in stock). The hem is unfinished and Nordstrom will finish to taste and size. The sale started yesterday and lasts for two weeks.

Well, they come unfinished. I'm sure the cuffs were just for the pants the model wore.

I bought them in the store itself, not online. The ones I bought had flap pockets.

I went to Nordstrom's today to check out the Faconnable chino pants sale. I thing they are fairly good 'close enoughs'. The material is lightweight 100% cotton. These pants are probably not as sturdy as the LL Beans talked about in this thread. I was impressed with the taupe color. That seems a tough color to get a hold of.

The pants have button through the flap back pockets. It also has a small 'v' notch at the back waist seam and a tiny tag near the waistband at the front.

I was holding two pair to buy when my very observant wife comments, "don't you have a pair of Wested's on the way?".... :? :)

Check them out if you are near a Nordstrom's. They look well worth the money.

I don't have access to a Nordstrom's. I hope LLBean brings back the Taupe this fall. If not I saw some Dockers with flap back pockets today. It also had a small fake watch/coin pocket with a flap right on the front of the band. That would have to be removed of course. They also had cuffs but they could be cut off and rehemmed.

Are you sure it was a fake pocket? Its there, but it is really tight if you are thinking of the model pant I am thinking.

Are you sure about this? I have two pair of Dockers and the pockets are real.
I could have a different style you are looking at.

Well, I am sad to report that the fall LL Bean catalogue is out and there is no taupe. They added "black," so there is still hope they might resurrect "taupe" again one day.
(And maybe the watch pocket as well  )

I have a pair of THESE.

They are the Dockers Versatile pants, and have the exact Taupe color you want (at least they did around Christmas time), pleats, and back flap pockets. They are poylester/cotton, but are great close enoughs.

Zach and Feraud,

No, I didn't check to see if it was fake it was just so small I assumed it was fake. Thanks for correcting my error.

HJ, That is too bad, I hope at some point they will offer them again. I'm not sure I will spring for the $150 for the Wested pants.

$150.00? The Wested site has 'em for 49 GBP. That is approx. $85.00 USD, isn't it?
Anyhow, keep your eyes open. You never know when a bargain will appear.
I have a new pair in transit I paid $85.00 USD shipped.

Feraud,

You are correct sir.
I am not sure where I got $150, I just got my jacket a few weeks ago and for some reason misread the price. That will definitely bring on more thoughts. Thanks for setting me straight.

Yeah, I think so. I've been called worse...

Parsa was the name of the ancient Persian city-state. Hence the word "persian", and the Greek name for the city itself Parsa-polis (Persepolis).

Dockers tend to be real, but they're the exception to the rule, I'm afraid. Regards! Michaelson

Feraud,

I think I remember why I thought they were $150. Isn't that the price for the Noel Howard pants?

I need my Ginko :? !!

They show that color, but it's not an option in ordering.

I mentioned these in another thread, they're great pants. :)

I bought three pairs when they were on sale, and interestingly one of them doesn't have cuffs. :-k
