That's great to hear. What style are you going to shape it in? I've heard that the Raiders style doesn't fit that hat very well, as the block is not right. I have heard, however, that the Akubra Fed. can get a mean Temple of Doom (see Wrightknife's pics) look, and a good Last Crusade also.

Let us know, and please, do post pics! :D

That's a good looking hat VP. :) From what I hear the Akubra can be kinda hit or miss. I've seen some that make a pretty good Raiders hat while others like my dad's, arrive tapered right out of the box. I'm not sure exactly what to think about it. :?

I'm going with the Raiders bash. Ain't no can't about it. After 24 hours, I now know why you guys(and gals) are insane. Because that is how long it has taken me to go insane. I feel like the guy who keeps going back and checking to see if the refrigerator light goes out. I can't stop looking at it critically, and tweeking it. It's a lot of fun. It definately needs a black ribbon, and I'm doing that today. I'm also bashing the one I got my dad. Will have pictures of both soon.

Good work! :) That's what I did. Only I didn't replace the ribbon on mine, because I don't know how, and I kinda like the ribbon.

VP said Indy didn't have a black ribbon - he's pretty much right, but it'll look fine anyway. Don't worry about it.

Sorry you've gone insane so soon.

Wait till you start collecting whips!

It looks black in some of the pictures. I don't know if it is or not. I just like it the most when it looks black. Besides, I already changes it. That was a project. I followed Delexs tutorial. I'm very happy with it and I can now say that did it. Pictures next week more than likely. Busy Busy Weekend
