Hello Doug, and welcome! Essentially, I believe they would be, as the TofD is about 2 inches longer, so a Raiders 'long' will be at least that much longer than a standard Raiders size. JMO though. Regards! Michaelson

Yup, what Michaelson said.
To be certain you'll feel comfortable with it though, you can provide a measurement for how long you want it to be. I sent back my first jacket to be fixed (though a new one was made for me) and took the opportunity to add some length to the new one to be made. Most people are happy with the standard length for each jacket, but I felt I needed some more since I'm pretty tall... And I guess I have a long back. To make it short -you can have your jacket made to a specific length, and then you can call it either "Raiders" or "Temple", depending on who asks. ;)

Welcome Doug! :D

Thats kind of a tricky question. Its the type that makes you go cross eyed if you think about it too mucg. I would think that a Raiders long would be the same as a ToD regular. But I must ask, why? I mean, if you wear a long then you will need to order a long, if you wear a regular than you need to order a regular. So I guess it depends on what you want.

Example: If you want a longer jacket then you will need a ToD. It would be kinda silly to special order a long Raiders when all you need it a regular ToD. #-o  :D

Then again, your COA would say it was made from the same patterns as Harrison Ford's from Raiders and not Temple.

Hello and welcome Doug,

Just what they said . . . . There are many posts of where the Raiders and the ToD jacket should end, making you crazy, it kind of depends on which one you prefer. So if you were to order one be sure to include your back measurement (I forgot ](*,) ) or where you want the jacket to end.

Best,

Hi Doug,

There is no difference between the Wested Raiders and Temple jackets aside from the slightly longer length on the TofD.

The Last Crusade jacket does have small differences from the other two (a larger collar size and press studs on the top and bottom of the storm flap).

You need to ensure that the length of the back is tailored to fit you properly first and foremost, so measure carefully.

In my experience the COA which comes with the jacket will say whatever you asked for in the initial order form (so either Raiders or Temple of Doom) regardless of the custom back length you specify.

Welcome to COW by the way. :)

So, if you choose a LC-jacket and just want a smaller collar and no press studs you will have a Raiders-jacket.  8-[

Oh, and yes - welcome aboard. :D

 Me, me!

Or an LC with a Raiders collar: snaps on pockets and the bottom of the stormflap.

I once owned a Raiders jacket with the TofD length with press studs on the top and bottom of the flap. It had 2 inside pockets (one large 'diary' size. To confuse matters further, later down the line Wested replaced the collar with a LC collar for me.

When I sold it, the COA still said Raiders jacket.

So, all things are possible!

This is starting to remind of a certain guard played by Eric Idle in MP's grail story. ;)

-Make sure, HE, doesn't leave until I get back...

-Right, we'll leave him here and follow you back.

I bought a slightly too roomy Temple, tumbled dryed a bit and now it fits better.

And now, it's a Raiders.

Interesting idea, VeePee...

Lord, I was born a tumblin’ man,
Tryin’ to distress a jacket and doin’ the best I can.
And when the stiches are poppin'’,
I hope you’ll understand,
That I was born a tumblin’ man.

Doug,

Welcome!

I called wested when I had my TOD in progress. All of a sudden I was worried about the length. I'm 6'3" so I usually fall into the long measurements; I talked with Peter about it and he said for my height the advertised long measurement would suffice - he said (of the TOD) "it should rest on your hip". Got the jacket and thats what it does...rests right on my hip. In the back, wearing some non baggy jeans, it goes about 1-1.5" below the top of my back pockets. Raiders would prolly be right above your pockets. Go with the standard length based on your height (reg/lg) and it will be fine. Unless you have an extra long torso, then you might want to get measured for that specifically, but the standard length measurements work well for most people. If you want to be absolutely sure, go get measured by a tailor, they will measure your actual back length, and then Peter knows what to do from there.

Good observation. Guess they are IMO. I would consider getting a TOD if Peter made the pockets smaller and the collar more of a distinctive "Doom" one, which I perceive to be flatter and more round than the Raiders.

I guess maybe I should have initially asked 'is there any small detail differences between the Raiders and Temp jackets'. I assumed there was and I "basically" like the Raider's better but want is to be slightly longer. I thought I had read that the pockets were smaller on the Raiders and that they were scalloped- both of which I like. You see, if I were to buy a second hand jacket I could consider a "long Raiders" or a regular cut Temple - so that's why I asked..

Me-"So are the temple pockets scalloped?"

Wested-"Scalloped. You keep using this word, I do not think it means what you think it means"
