Yes, your page is locked. Congratulations on the jacket! It sounds like a great deal. Sometimes eBay can come through.

Good stuff! Congrats, I'm jealous. Though I'm about to take the plunge myself. Having just got a new job, I promised myself (and my accountant-- er, wife has graciously assented) I would order my looooooong desired Wested upon my first paycheck. Given that this was my second day, it will be a couple of weeks. But still...

Not to take away from your victory, Av, just sharing in the glory! Get those pics working, and make sure you get some of yourself with your new jacket when it arrives!

Cordially,
Lord Clarence

Congrats on your nice "new" jacket, Aviator.
As Swindy asked, what kind of leather is it made of. Do you know this?
On the 4th picture it looks like goat, but after seing the last pic, I'm not that sure.

Anyway, a very nice jacket you've won!

The jacket is Authentic Goatskin and comes with a certificate from wested which gives all details.

I know its not NEW but really as good as new only two months on the clock and half price with no postage to the uk.

And as a wise man once said, 'Its not the years, hun. Its the milage'

Congratulations on your great deal Aviator! You will truly enjoy your jacket. I live in South Geogia so all I am doing with mine so far is sitting on it, rolling it up and using other methods to get it broken in. I am moving to Virginia in the fall and look forward to more jacket friendly weather.

I guess it depends if you just want it "broken in" or distressed. I have decided to speed up the break in period but let it distress naturally. Most of what I've heard here on breaking in involves things like:

1.) rolling it up over and over
2.) sitting on it while its rumpled
3.) actually sleeping in it
4.) putting it in a pillow case and then running it in a clothes dryer on a "no heat" setting
5.) wearing it in the rain

These are the things I am utilizing. Anyone else please post thoughts!

Congratulations Aviator! Hope to see the pics with you in it. :) That there is a good looking purchase. I too acquired my Wested from e-bay just about a month ago. It is a very dark brown TOD style. Again, good show!

Cheers!

Well I swear that's a new one for me, sleeping in it? London is particularly hot at the moment so perhaps this is why it seems so unusual. Do you zip the jacket up or just wear it open? Aren't you worried about waking up with a big old imprint of the zipper across your face? I have to admit it's quite clever though, you get twice as much wear out of it than if you just wore it during the day

I haven't done it yet either, but I have heard it works. In South Georgia it doesn't get cold enough in any month to do it. I may try it outside in my sleeping bag this fall though.:D
