My new >>CRACK<< Robert Duke whip. UPDATE: PIX

Last week my new whip (10 foot/12 plait roohide natural tan indy model) arrived.
I bought it from Robert Duke, a great guy, who provided
a service way beyond what I could ever expect.
Robert, I can not express my gratitude enough, Thanks!
I'm no expert but I will attempt to write a review anyway.
The whip looks great, the braiding is tight and even.
The weight feels right and the whip is well balanced.
The the smallest wrist movement makes the whip come to life.
The reason for this late review is: I've been busy cracking it :wink:
And what a joy it is to crack a 10 footer!
I do how ever nick my self :whip: occasionally, it can be quit
painful but not painful enough to make me quit :lol:
My 11 year old daughter managed to crack it 4 times. Now she wants a 6 footer.

Later I'll post some pictures of the whip and the non slip whip holder I made yesterday.

Congratulations on your new whip!
Can't wait to see pics.

Bernie Wojcicki gave me a DVD with instructions on some basic cracking techniques ... please let me know if you have a suggestion for additional instructional DVD(s);
I'd like to expand the types of cracks in my repertoire (plus, improve my technique).

p.s.> Also, looking forward to seeing your 'non-slip' holder.

You have chosen ... wisely! I own a Duke 8 footer and I LOVE IT! It's the best whip for beginners in my eyes and who knows, maybe I'll buy a 10 footer in the (far) future... :wink:

Glad that you like your whip. I hope that you enjoy many years of cracking and good memories of adventures with it.

Denmark has been a particularly active country for me this year. Lots of orders from there. Indiana Jones must be well and alive there and quite popular! :whip:

Congrats on the new whip. The pictures look great, very Morgan like....Did you ask for it to look a certain way or is this Robert's standard design? Whatever, it looks a great whip!

It's Robert's standard Indy design, no special requests from me was necessary. :)

Morgan's whips have evolved from the original Indy whip, and that for the better because a good whipmaker knows how to improve after making several hundred.

I like to stick with a bit more like the new and improved as I agree with his whipmaking techniques.
I occasionally get requests from GearHeads to make one patterned after the original specs which I don't mind doing.

Hope you enjoy many years of fun whipcracking and showing it off. :whip:

I agree, great whip and very nice idea for the holder - it looks very stable as far as the risk of coming undone. Good show all around :wink:
