I was thinking the same thing Rick .
The distressing looks "too Hollywood" & I don't recall Ford's LC jacket looking "that" distressed....It must be a stunt jacket I'm guessing.
Also, it looks like a nice brown color. I always thought that the LC jacket looked VERY dark as compared to the first two movies, it's good to see that they all look pretty close in color to one another, as well...
Kindest Regards,
Captain D

I always thought that the jacket was distressed the heaviest in LC. It was more noticeable to me in LC than the other two movies. I always figured the reason for it was that since it was supposed to have occurred two years after Raiders, they distressed it more so that it would appear that Indy had been wearing it often since 1936, and it was showing more distressing.

There is always Brown Pecards
It reminds me of a story I read about a national park that cleared some brush out of the way and exposed some rocks. The problem is the natural rocks looked too fake. The park painted them to look more realistic.

It does have Ford's name on it though. Hmmmmmm...The distressing looks "too Hollywood" & I don't recall Ford's LC jacket looking "that" distressed....It must be a stunt jacket I'm guessing.

authentic brown it is
spome have opined in this forum that the Raiders jacket was the authrentic brown, but all other since were dark brown. this auction page would seem to contradict that assertion.

All good points! Also, I was just thinking...that the collar looked more pointed earlier in the LC movie; and "less" distressed. But, as the film went on, the collar, to me, looked more curved and relaxed; while the jacket became "more" distressed.
In this particular pic of this jacket, it looks quite the opposite.... . Just a thought....
Kin Regards,
Captain D
p.s- I too am with Shadwell55 when he states that he doesn't really see any color differences between the Indy jackets from all three movies. Just different lighting from the three films could have the effect, I suppose...just my 0.2 cents

Agreed. You can tell in this behind the scenes shot from Crusade that it is indeed authentic brown.Captain D wrote: p.s- I too am with Shadwell55 when he states that he doesn't really see any color differences between the Indy jackets from all three movies. Right. The Raiders jacket looked almost like a dull black to me at times onscreen, even though I know it was authentic (as evidenced by the behind the scene footage.) So much so, I considred getting the dark brown. Boy am I glad I didn't.J_Weaver wrote:Yea, the LC jacket always looked more Authentic Brown than the Raiders jacket.
