Looks like it has been sat on its crown.
Note to fedora wearers, When you have a wet hat sit it on its brim and leave the sweatband in. If you set it on the crown you can get a flat spot, and if you turn the sweatband out it can become wrinkly.
The hat in the pic doesn't look to me like it was a porkpie, and if it was it doesn't look like it was wooden blocked into that shape. It looks like it may have been smashed in and stored that way for a while, then someone later gave it a center crease.

That's exactly what Graham told me. When it gets really wet, just lay it flat on a table or something. Like I said, I've never experienced that with any of my Akubra's, AB's, or Camptown, but they fall somewhere between the vintage and the western felts. I have never done that with my vintage hats, though. They always get hung on my hat rack to dry when wet, so that's why I've never seen this before. Interesting!
