Need a reputable gunsmith - Webley Help

Post by IndyFrench »

Hey all,

Anyone know of a reputable gunsmith who can look at my "new" Webley MKVI? Preferably in the southeast, but I won't be choosy if they're good.

The hammer lock seems to be kaput and I need to also find a gunsmith I can trust to clean and prep the ol' shooter.

It's one of the .45 ACP conversion and it's gonna look great on display, but i'd like to get it back to working condition before I do that.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys,
Mike

Well, for a long time now, the man to send hand cannons to for conversion (.455 to .45, Bless you, my son...) has been Jack DeVore. Several Gearheads (including Lee Keppler, Minnesota, etc.) have had him do "surgery." I can't imagine he wouldn't be a good choice for overall smithing, but he is in Flagstaff, Arizona (the last time I checked, not terribly southeast...) .

Jack used to do most of the work at Reeder Custom Guns (www.reedercustomguns.com), but has been out on his own for a little while now. As Lee Keppler said around here a long time ago, "Give Jack a call at 928-526-7718 and tell him Lee Keppler sent you." Good luck!

Sincere regards,

Henry Jones, Sr.

You may also want to check with Rusty, the gunsmith at David's Gun Room, which is located in off of Buford Hwy in Norcross. He does excellent work. I have used him for several projects and he has always done excellent work.
