I agree it's essential for a raiders look! Necessary i would say.

Sorry for the many questions but you know... it's my first hat so before i do something i ask it 3 times to many persons  i'm too affectionate to my things, i know many of you say that adventurebilts are nearly bulletproof but it's my first hat... be patience with me :D

Erri,
You are doing a great job with that hat. Well done, my friend. You have an excellent teacher there; Pagey is an excellent hat shaper. :D

Thank you guys for compliments. I'm still working on the brim with my hands but maybe i will need to use water or steam... we will see

If we change plans and decide to go to Europe instead, you can bet we'll look you up in Italy. :) Just look for the tourist in the fedora speaking Italian very poorly.
And if you come in Florence... look for a guy with a fedora hat and a mkVII... you cannot be wrong!

Gary , you'll find a tutorial in the FAQ section, as well as several posts if you use the search function and the 'gear care' section at the top of the forum page.

Short and sweet, you brush the hat crown, top, and upper brim counter clockwise with a soft bristle brush. You brush the bottom of the brim clockwise. This keeps the felt tight as that is the direction the cone is originally spun when it's made by a felter.

Regards! Michaelson
