Pics of the Wested from e-bay

Post by DanielJones »

As requested the photos of the e-bay wested. The jacket is quite dark in color, but when the light hits it it turns a lovely shade of chocolate.
Enjoy! :D

This is the TOD configuration I believe in horsehide. It is quite light, but some think it weighs a tom. Then I remind them of my English Bomber Jacket that is quite heavy.

Cheers to all!

You're off to a great start, you've been signed up for 7 days and you already have a shirt, jacket, *and* Fedora.

Next thing you know, you'll be placing an order for a pair of Aldens(or checking into the poorhouse if you are like me):P

Too true my friends. I've been lurking for some time now. I figured it was time I shared the wealth and join up. Actually the next thing will be a Camptown Hat. Tha hat these pictures is the Indy Straw by Peter's Bros. Great for a hot summer. Keeps the old mellon cool. The Aldens will come in December when we go up to San Francisco for our Christmas shopping. That will be my little gift to my feet.
It is great being able to share ones thoughts and ideas on a common subject that has sparked so much. And yes, this is one of those ongoing living hobbies very similar to the American Mountainmen Association. It is called 'Experimental Archaeology'. And it too and cost an arm and a leg. But as long as we enjoy our selves and have fun with the perpetual experiment no harm, no foul.

Cheers gentlemen!

If it is a horsehide (and on your pics it seems to be), than you made a great deal!

If I buy my next Wested (and that would need a lot of time and work, I'm afraid), it surely have to be of horsehide (y'know - the leather, real adventurers prefer  )

Very nice jacket that is, congrats!

Dan,
Great jacket. I really like the russet color. The fit looks good.
Your straw hat looks good also; I really like the view from the back. Enjoy.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I know I dig on this jacket.

Pagey: Yes, it is a tad large but that is how I like my jackets. gives the shoulders a bit more freedom of movement when zipped up. But, to each his own, correct? I would love to see your jacket for an idea of a more fitted jacket.

Hemingway: The light hit the jacket just right in these pictures. It is quite dark. I'm sure it will lighten up with age and use. But like I had said this is what I would have ordered from Wested.

Thanks to all for the kind comments and warm welcomes. I am glad to be amongst like minded folks.

Cheers!

Jpevh: Funny thing, I think it is brand new. It may have been worn once by the previous owner then spent the rest of it's existance in a closet. I got to wear it in the evenings at DisneyLand this last weekend. Felt great to wear.

Wrightknife: Got to see your pics, what a fine jacket they make, eh?

Cheers!

Jersey Jones: I am interested in your hat sir. I had e-mailed you originally from ebay and had said something about ordering one near the end of July. I can't wait to put my order in, but the end of this month is coming quite soon. :D Will your COW offer still be in effect at that time? Because, if so, wow! Such a deal I should have!

Cheers!
