Eddie Bauer Taupe Wool pants
I can't tell from the description what the back pockets look like, but the taupe pair looks pretty close color-wise. Has anybody had a pair of these pants?
Ruston Fit–Pleated-Front Wool-Gabardine Pants
Pocket flaps or otherwise, the fly would have to be converted, however, as they probably have a French fly.

I just talked to the customer service, and the back pockets do not have flaps and are button through.
They do come finished without cuffs up to 37", or unfinished, which must be at least 2 or 3 inches longer or abut 39" (though I assume that is for the tall sizes). Getting them unfinished may provide enough material to hem them (without cuffs, of course) and make a set of pocket flaps and/or convert the fly.

These LL Bean pants would be a better alternative. They have flaps on the back pockets and the Dark Khaki is not too far off. I have a pair and they're not too far off from my Wested pants.

Both good looking pants.
I was just at Kohls last night looking for Taupe pants with no luck. Maybe I just don't know exactly what a good Indy Taupe looks like or maybe I'm way too picky. What's the best color refernce to use? As we know color can change dramaticly depending how it was lit in a photo. (my tan web belt looks taupe when I use the flash)

I was just at Wally world too and looked at the pants. I did see some dark khaki that I wondered if they would be a good color. I was thinking taupe was a bit more red. (maybe that's my problem) Is it slightly redish, or just darker brown/khaki. They may not have the same things at both stores though.Texas Raider wrote:Wal-mart actually has a really great pair of taupe "khaki's" and they are only about $19.00. They are not cuffed, but don't have the flaps. But that alteration in only about 10 or 15 bucks. The color is RIGHT ON though.

LLBean's taupe was, I felt, really really close.
This pic from the mainsite is the best I can find to what the color was as I remember it. It blended well with almost any shirt you put with it.
They actually have some garments that still use the taupe color and it is still the same shade. They just haven't brought that shade back to the Chinos line which is really a shame.

Pants color--does it change from film to film
I haven't seen ToD in a while and we popped it in today. It seems that Indy's pants "appear" more Tan than Taupe. I was thinking British Tan but not a full British tan. They look Taupe in LC and Raiders. Am I being fooled by lighting?
