wwme holster

Post by Indiana Wayne »

I am thinking of buying a wwme webley holster, an I would like to know if it is a good holster. I bought medals from there, but thats it. I would like to know if the holster is dark like the picture, and is it soft or stiff?

Thanks, Indiana Wayne.

Interesting...too bad the pic isn't larger. It looks like the leather has a different color backing than the IMA and Sportsman's Guide version...a bit cheaper, too, like the Swords Of Honor price.

But it looks like a thinner leather...take a look. Links for both the left- and right-handed versions:

EDIT: P.S., they also sell a matching ammo pouch. Too bad Indy didn't wear one, this seems like a good source. :)

Fascinating. It said that the maximum is 150. Here it is:
Jones-Jr.com wrote:In Aventutiers of the Lost Arch, Indiana Jones carries one [ leather holster ] whose exact origin remains unspecified to date. ? In Indiana Jones and the Which cursed Temple and in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, it carries same the leather holster for revolver [ Webley Mark VI ]. - Adventurers of the Lost Arch - Holster for Webley Mark V? Adventurers of the Lost Arch Label 2: One sees the leg of fastener with his two buttonholes © D.R. Adventurers of the Lost Arch Photographs of the film © D.R. Realized out of fawn-coloured leather of color, it has a small reduction provided with a brass n****e, with the back, broad passing for the belt, as well as a leg of fastener on the right side which comprises two buttonholes (this second buttonhole is surely the fruit of "do-it-yourself" of the costumière or accessories suppliers to adapt the case to a revolver which was not that of origin). The exact origin of the holster used in the Adventurers of the Lost Arch remains unknown to date. One it known as especially manufactured for film, but surely on the basis of existing model. It seems to to me that it acts of a model for revolver Webley Mark V This weapon was manufactured since 1913. It has a gun of 10 cm like Smith & "customized" Wesson of the Adventurers of the Lost Arch. A holster for Webley Mark V © D.R. A holster for Webley Mark IV © D.R. Same open © D.R. - the Which cursed Temple & the Last Crusade - Holster for Webley Mark VI In two other films, Indy carries the same type of holster. It acts of a model dating from the First World War, for Webley Mark VI (the revolver used in the last crusade). Larger than that of the "Adventurers", it is made out of brown leather chocolate. Indiana Jones and the Which cursed Temple The version "Temple Which cursed" is darker than the version "Last Crusade" and comprises only one buttonhole. The leg of fastener is fixed very high © D.R. This holster going back to 1917 one of truths would © be used in film (sold with the biddings on eBay) © D.R. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Label 1: One clearly sees the leg of fastener which comprises two buttonholes. Label 4: This holster one of truths would © be used in film (sold with the biddings on eBay) © D.R. To note: Truths holsters often comprise a hole for the water run-off. Weep hole for a holster of Webley Mark VI © D.R. - Where to find it? - ? Holsters authentic Perhaps in the purses with the weapons, militaria or on the sites of auction sales, you will be likely to find holsters authentic. For the version the Adventurers it will be necessary for you to unearth the rare bird (you provide with documentation and much of patience). For the version Which cursed Temple and Last Crusade, it will be necessary for you to seek a brown leather holster for Webley Mark VI. Attention however, there exists about it much of alternative to the very different forms, there too provide you with a good documentation. ? Counterparts You can get different relic from these holsters on Internet, they are often of great quality. MBA Costumier Costumes for the theatre, films and television (U.K.) Unfortunately closed since September 2003, MBA was the address nearest to on our premises (London). Noël Howard, his leader had worked on the costumes of three films. It was for the fans a pledge of authenticity and quality. MBA proposed a counterpart of the holsters for each film. These counterparts were carried out in a leather of great quality by Chris King. [ the history of MBA ] to note: Versions presented Ci-desous were patinated after purchase. The version "Raiders" is a little too clear and orange, whether it is at MBA or Lee Keppler. The form of the holster for Webley is appropriate better for "the Which cursed Temple". The holsters MBA, front view © JMS The holsters MBA, sight of back © JMS Holster MBA S&W M1917 modified © JMS Holster MBA S&W M1917 or Colt © JMS Holster MBA Webley Mk VI © JMS To note: The version of MBA comprises only one buttonhole. Noël Howard was (at the time) to only propose a "fictitious" version of the holster of Indiana Jones and the Which cursed Temple, to be able to accomodate Smith & Wesson M1917. Indeed, "truth" holster of film is planned for Webley Mark VI, therefore too much large for this type of revolver. Designation RAIDERS GUN HOLSTER TEMPLE of DOOM GUN HOLSTER LAST CRUSADE GUN HOLSTER REFERENCE IJ05a IJ05b IJ05c Price 60,00 £ H.T. (except port) * Lee Keppler (the USA) Lee Keppler proposes only to one counterpart of the holster Adventurers of the Arch Lost on his Internet site [ Ventures-supply ], under the appelation: [ "Raiders" Holster style ]. This same counterpart is also sold on the site [ westernstageprops.com ], under the appelation [ Indiana Jones Style Gun Holster ]. The holster Lee Keppler for the S&W M1917 modified © D.R. Détai of the leg of fastener which comprises two buttonholes © D.R. The same one of back © D.R. Designation "Raiders" style Holster Reference "Raiders" style Holster/IJH Price 75 $ (except port) * To note: The version of Lee Keppler comprises the two buttonholes, as in film. The form is good and leather with the air of good quality. From its occupation, Lee Keppler is rather not easily reachable and the malls sent often remain unanswered. It is thus preferable to order on the site westernstageprops.com. Todds Costumes (the USA) Todds Costumes proposes to a beautiful counterpart of the holster Adventurers of the Arch Lost on his Internet site [ Todds Costumes ]. It exists in two versions, BASIC Holster and Deluxe Holster this last version being of better quality. BASIC Holster © D.R. Deluxe Holster © D.R. Designation The "Raiders" holster Reference BASIC Holster Deluxe Holster Price 49.95 $ H.T. (except port) * 79.95 $ H.T. (except port) * To note: This version comprises the two buttonholes, as in film. In the facts, the first buttonhole is not really usable (but it was perhaps also the case for the version used in film?). Comparatively with that of MBA, leather is very fine and the quite white wire of the seam (one can cure it very easily with a little waxing). Todds Costumes proposes also a "fictitious" version of the holster of Indiana Jones and the Which cursed Temple, to be able to accomodate Smith & Wesson M1917 not modified. Lost Ark (the U.K.) Lost Ark proposes to its counterpart of the holster Adventurers of the Arch Lost on his Internet site [ lost-ark.net ]. It exists in two versions, Budget Raiders Holster (thickness of leather: 2,5 mm) and and a version of better quality, Deluxe Raiders Holster (thickness of leather: 3 mm). Budget Raiders Holster © D.R. Deluxe Raiders Holster © D.R. Designation Holsters Reference Budget Raiders Holster Deluxe Raiders Holster Price 24.99 £ H.T. (except port) * 59.99 £ H.T. (except port) * To note: Does the form seem a little odd? Texas Action GEAR (the USA) Texas Action GEAR proposes to a beautiful version of the holster Adventurers of the Lost Arch [ texasactiongear.com ]. It exists 2 colors: "Saddle-Tan" and "Havana Brown". Saddle-tan © D.R. Havana Brown © D.R. Designation Raiders Holster Reference Raiders Holster Price 69.99 $ (except port) * To note: This version comprises the two buttonholes, as in film. The form is good and leather with the air of good quality. IMA (International Military Antiques) (the USA) [ ima-usa.com ] a counterpart of the holster for Webley Mark VI proposes. Holster IMA for Webley Mark VI © D.R. Designation REPLICA BRITISH 455 REVOLVER HOLSTER REFERENCE WB2000 Price 29,95 $ (except port) * To note: The site does not comprise a photograph, but according to various testimonys, it seems that the color of the holster is too much clear. World Wide Military Exchange (the USA) [ wwmeinc.com ] another counterpart of the holster for Webley Mark VI proposes. Carried out out of brown leather chocolate of good quality. Holster WWME for Webley Mark VI © D.R. Designation British Officer' S Sam Browne Belt Holster Left Reference - Price 24,95 $ (except port) * CASE Iberia (the USA) [ casiberia.com ] another counterpart of the holster for Webley Mark VI proposes. Designation Right Hip Butt Forward Holster Reference ONRB08 Price 28 $ (except port) * To note: This same holster is also sold by the company [ Swords of honor ] 25,20 $. The Sportsman' S Guides (the USA) [ sportsmansguide.com ] another counterpart of the holster for Webley Mark VI proposes. The holster Sportsman' S Guides Webley Mark VI © D.R. It's made out of brown leather chocolate??? That's it, I'm ordering those for Easter.

VP - Thanks for the translation. That one is actually close enough to be useful - thanks!

Still, giggle-worthy...Raiders Of The Lost Arch...hehehehe...not sure if that's a reference to his Alden's giving out or an adventure for a last cache of prototype McDonald's Happy Meal toys... ;)

That is an interesting collection of available holsters someone put together. Neat find! Thanks, Graal!
