Pictures of me in all my gear

Post by Falstaff »

Well, I'm finally done. This is all my gear. I'm happy with it, and only plan to replace things when they wear out.

It's pre-distressed cowhide, about 4 years old and getting better with age. It needs a new coat of Pecards soon and will get much darker.

Nice. It looks like a tough jacket.

That's some nice gear. If you want to get your whip to hang screen-accurately and securely, I suggest Todd's Costumes adjustable velcro whip holder. I tried the Texas Action gear whipholder and my whips slid out way too easy, though I was really satisfied with the gunbelt I got from there.

Falstaff,
That is some great gear. The leather of the jacket looks very rich and antique looking. I really love the depth and texture of it- great jacket. The shirt seems to fit you very well. Fit makes a huge difference with Indy shirts.
Great stuff,

I thought the visits here were paying off for me when I could immediately spot and identify the pre-distressed cowhide. Then, I had to question it all because, although a great gear boot, those didn't look like Aldens to me.

Not that it matters; the gear still looks top notch! I just thought my powers of observation were better than that. Are those really Aldens?
Absolutely those are Aldens. The day they were charged to my credit card several years ago, was the day the Canadian dollar hit it's all time low--they cost me a bundle!

Seriously though, they've had some work done to them. They've been sanded, polished with brown shoe polish, and worn a lot. They've got a good layer of dirt and grime on them from helping out in the garden now and I'm afraid to get them clean because they look so neat. I do plan to buy a new pair this fall and use them a dress shoes.

100% accurate. Add to that, so does physique and the style of wearing the shirt. If you weigh in at 500 lbs, the shirt will never look like an Indy shirt. And no, I am not implying anything about Falstaff here either. I think he looks great here:

Not that you asked for my opinion, but here it is anyways. Roll the sleeves up only to just below the elbow so it looks like a long-sleeved shirt rolled up and not a short-sleeved shirt. Unbutton the top 3-4 (or more) buttons. It looks more accurate and it gives Canyon something to look at

Awesome gear for sure! :D Thank you for posting!

BTW, I also especially like your Cowhide jacket. How many applications of Pecards have you applied to it to make it nice and dark like that?

Wear your gear in great health my friend!

Great looking gear Falstaff!
The leather stuff could use a little distressing (except for the jacket!)
And how about some outdoor pics?
This stuff always looks so much better when you take the pics outside.

:-k Pre-distressed cowhide you say... I may have to make some room in my closet...

I applied two when I first got the jacket. Then for the next three years I applied a coat every six months. Now I apply Pecards about once a year and every time I do the jacket gets darker and softer. I know that cowhide is a lot stiffer than lamb, but you'd be surprised at how soft this jacket has become with age. If you're willing to work with the leather, I'd be hard pressed to recommend anything other than good old cowhide.

It's just a Timex with nice leather strap. It's got an analog face with a small digital screen that doesn't show up in the photos. Truth be known, I forgot to take it off, but with the leather band I think it works.
