Use for little pocket in a MKVII

Post by Skippy »

I had been wondering what to use the little pocket inside the top of my MKVII for, given mine is a British version, which unlike the Canadian ones which have a press stud flap, is open topped :-k

Well I started packing it for a holiday I'm off on on Sunday (more of that later \:D/ ) & found that this sharpner fits perfectly, especially if you attach the little string lanyard in that pocket to it :D

Only £4.99 8)

Now I can always have a sharp pocket knife

Good item!

I find my cell phone fits rather nicely, too, as long as I don't toss my bag around too much. I guess I could modify the pocket with a short strap to keep my cell in place. Does that ruin the authenticity, or are others making those kinds of modifications?

I am actually designing slide in pouches for my MKVII. They will be canvas, and green with similar buttons. I am tired of losing my change, and my PDA pens out the top! :D

When I was a smoker I used to stash my zippo in there...however, I no longer even own a zippo ( being a dedicated non-smoker since Christmas gone, I'm very glad to say). :D

I keep a small bottle of Advil in there. It fits nicely, doesn't move around, and comes in real handy sometimes. I've also kept a zippo lighter in there (even though I've never smoked). That comes in real handy too.

I also carry my 1941 Zippo lighter in the little pocket of the Mark VII bag. I also carry a small brass button compass in case I need it. However that knife sharpener does look like an interesting item. I think I might try and find one here in the US.

Try Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, or any camping/hunting store. They are quite common and inexpensive.

Since I use the bag to carry a notebook and pencils, the little pocket is actually a good place to stow a pencil sharpener.

Yeah, RRs ziplites are quite the slick item if you don't smoke or need the fire.
I vote for Ziplite or cellphone.

I've used the little pocket to carry Listerine breath strips in there.
