I agree with you. However, I have seen someone selling a used hat that had the sellers initials in the sweatband. In that case, I don't think that it is a very good sales tool. I can't say that I would want a hat with someone else's initials in it, even if I got the hat for a really good price.
Thats like saying you wouldn't buy used hockey equiptment because the guy wrote his name in pen on the inside of the shoulder pads. The thing with AB is that they are made for you, custom made for your head. If you are buying a custom fedora second hand, you have to expect it's not going to be perfect for you.
I personally really like the JW in my hat. It's cool cause when people are like, "Shut up that is custom!" I show them the Initials and they answer with, "So, you could have put that in there!" but really they know their jealousy has taken over and they want to be me, cause I'm so awesome!
