pagey, your correct it's shorter than my adventurbilt. Steve said I would lose some height reblocking it.

Like Pagey said, I would deepen the top dent, and the side dents. I would also push the front down a bit to get those cool heart shaped 'bumps.' Of course the main thing is what style you like.

To my eye, and without having a picture handy for comparison, I would say that is a beautiful bridge scene Temple of Doom hat and I wouldn't alter a single thing. I think it is a great hat.
There are too many Raiders hats out there anyhow. We need some variety, some individuality. As for me, "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.
My life is my own."

HAT
I don't think it will be able to hold any deap bashes as my head is very tall ( don't know how else to say it). I need a taller hat than normal ( steve made my AB 5 3/4 '' tall). I don't think I'll be able to wear it very much ( Herbert Johnson was a waste of money). I should have spent that money on another Adventurebilt.
Let me explain on the new HJ reblocks. I can do them, but, my blocks are fuller, with less taper, so something has to give. In this case, you lose crown height. The only way to keep the crown height is to use the same tapered block that it was originally made with. Now, with that said, before you guys send me any hats to reblock, be sure there is enough hat there to begin with. I got one in last week, that the non member wanted to turn into an Indy fedora. He sent me a hat with a 2 1/2 inch brim, and a 4 inch crown height. Plus, it was a size 7 1/8, and he wanted it sized up to a 7 3/8!!! Of course, that is impossible. I just had to send the hat and his check back to him. Yeah, I could have turned it into the Indy shape, but it would have been 3 inches tall!!! I have also had to send some other reblock jobs back. If I think the felt will not hold up to the reblock, I will not do it. No need in ruining someone's hat. To do a reblock properly, it is just like building a new hat. That means that I still have to pounce the hat some after it dries to get rid of the fuzzies. If the felt looks like it won't pounce out, I will not even try to reblock the hat. I just sent one back like that too. No way that I could get a good finish, as the hat had a crappy one to begin with. Low quality felt was not meant to be refurbished. Those hats are disposable hats. You wear them until they taper, and then you put them in the garbage. regards, Fedora

Steve , I think you did a good job on my HJ and I knew it going in that I was going to lose crown height. I just wanted to comment on how the current herbert Johnson is just not a quality hat. I still think it was worth the trying to reblock it beause it seemed to tapper as I was looking at it. I just should have listen to everyone here and not spent the money on the Hebert Johnson. Money could have been spent on better things.

Steve I don't know how I missed your posting. I hope you didn't take my posting the wrong way. I'm very happy with the work you did on my Herbert Johnson. I new going in I was lose some crown hight and very happy I did get it reblocked ( I didn't like the tapper that it had). I just wanted everyone to know that I'm not happy with the product that Herbert Johnson is currently putting out. I would love to have spent that same cash on another one of your Adventurebilts ( I love mine so much). Aftter teeking the bash on it to look more temple ( bridge scene ). I like it alot and I'm wearing it right now. So I say again just to be clear Happy with steve's work , not happy with Herbert Johnson current product ( Just to be clear).
