Tawny Fawn Akubra Fed

Post by rogatywka »

Anyone tried an Akubra Fed in Tawny Fawn ? What's the colour like ? Is it light brown or is it orangy ? If it's close to a light taupe color, I'm interested.

I recently ordered an Akubra in Regency fawn, but it's closer to Santone (?) in this chart. I think maybe they sent me Santone. http://www.everythingaustralian.com.au/fitting.asp

Maybe I'll go the Adventurebilt route instead of an Akubra if Fedora can do one in light taupe - that way I can get it with a custom width brim and a 6 inch crown !

....did someone call my name???? Yes, I do have a Tawny Fawn Fed, and I really like it. I bought mine before the dimensional cut was added, and had to put my own brown ribbon on it. As a reference, the color is almost exactly the color of the tan U.S military beret. The dark brown ribbon really sets of the hat, and I do get lots of compliments when I wear this one(though I must admit it is mostly from family and friends, who welcome the change of color every now and again). If you don't have one, get one........
