Original Mk VII Bags at WPG

Post by wpg »

I thought I'd give The Faithful at COW a heads up of the following posting that will go on my website as soon as my web janitor gets to it.:

WPG has just acquired a large supply original of Mk VII bags, long thought to be nearly extinct. These bags appear to have seen very little actual use, but have been stored indifferently for decades. Although the bags are in good conditon, expect to see minor stains, some corrosion on metal parts, and other signs that the bag is over 60 years old. Also included at no extra charge is the legendary smell.

These bags come with their original cotton webbing strap. I do not sell leather straps for these separately. .Tthere are other vendors who do, and I have no desire to take away their business. Consult www.indygear.com for further information.

Bags are $45 each. You can express a preference for a tan or green shade, and I'll do the best I can. No special requests for maker marks or other fetishes will be entertained at this time.

Combination Offers:

One original Mk VII bag and one WPG Indiana Jones Shirt, $98

One Original Mk VII bag and two WPG Indiana Jones Shirts, $139

Also available is the Mk VI bag, which was sometimes used as a stunt double for the original Indy bag. These are also in excellent used condition at $25 each.

Thanks for the update Jerry! It's nice to know our vendors are looking out for us! And that price isn't bad at all. :)

Pagey wrote:Nearly extinct is funny. I don't think it's ever been hard to find an original bag (a particular make or date perhaps) and at the moment I don't think it's ever been easier. They are constantly on ebay and SofF received a lot of over 1000 unissued bags last month.
There's loads of these bags around and if we hang on before buying them the prices will soon come down again too. That's my opinion anyhow
Well, that may be the case for anyone located in the UK, but they're definitely not laying around in great piles here in the States. I just purchased one from Jerry and figure I'll come out better considering shipping and exchange rates than if I'd ordered one from SOF or Sentimental Journey. And if I don't like it, it will cost me less than five bucks to send it back, and that's using Priority Mail!

Cheers!
