So I hung out with Snakewhip today (Really nice guy!) and he was wearing his Adventurebilt Fedora! Wow!

I'm glad this wasn't yet another thread about incontinence.

It was swell meetin' you too, Crazylegs. Shame you had to spend so freakin' much on the MKVII. Take good care of that idol!

It's always nice to meet a fellow gearhead :D. Good thing you didn't pee your pants! I'm sure that would've been a weird social thing..

I'm not sure that review of the Adventurbilt will end up on Fedora's testimonial page for sure.

As much as I loved my Akubra Federation Deluxe, the Adventurebilt is so much more. It's authentic to the era and to the original fedora worn by Harrison Ford.

Now that I have the perfect lid, I've been able to get on with my life.

OK - so this thread wasn't about distressing your cavalry twills for that ultimate ToD look/feel.
Sable - should we meet someday, remind me not to pop into 7-Eleven for that 44 oz. Super Big Gulp. Especially if you're wearing a fedora.

Hah! This is why I've been known to walk around trouserless on certain occasions... as some might remember, or have repressed. Sorry.

As someone who's just gotten their AB beaver in the mail, I HAVE to agree with you Ren, the Adventurebilt is so much more than even my PB Custom (which I love dearly). The felt is beautiful and soft, the crown is very well shaped. Its interesting, I think the AB has a delayed reaction. When I first got it I was like "hmm. This is interesting." Then within two days I was admiring the way it looked when I just blurted out "I love this hat". Of course, that said, I should just add that as much as I love the AB, my family and cats come first. :D :junior: -IJ

I think that the Adventurebilt is the number one indy hat. One thing to remember is that it is a dust magnet. I love my Adventurebilt, even with all of the dust on it.

I'm sure Crazylegs will post pics... once he gets his hat(s) from Fedora. I just hope he's prepared when the package comes... if you know what I mean.

Really frustrating this someone abusing there authority and playing god on some forum. their was nothing wrong with my post I was just joining

I think there is a quote that may fit this place at times..."Nazi's, I hate these guys!"

No, no, no - they're just trying to keep a sense or decorum and making this place suitable for all ages. Don't dis the Mods (or the Rockers, for that matter).

Hey, deleting posts is better than suspending accounts, isn't it?

Enough with the whining today guys and if you get bored not being able to insult others, or take things way off topic, why don't you try re-reading the rules in the Forum Rules section.

If bashing of my moderators doesn't stop, and the jabs on board continue, suspensions will be handed out.

Hey, Cryptid, don't take it personally. There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter around here. Heck, I do it all the time. But at the same time, the mods generally try to "clean up" threads once in a while to keep everything gear related, make the pertinent info easier to find, and to keep things PG rated. I can't tell you how many posts I've probably had deleted, yet I don't let it get to me anymore. Sure, the first time it happened I felt a little torqued, but the longer you stick around, the more I think you come to understand the "dirty deed."

Of all the forums I've ever seen or been a part of, IndyGear is the friendliest, most balanced, family-friendly, repectable, and fair places I know. The moderators do a great job of keeping this place from turning into a wrestling ring or putting a stain on the image of Indy fans everywhere. Unfortunately, they have to play the part of bad cop from time to time. But if they didn't, I doubt this would be a place folks would want to stay for long. My hat is off to the mods for the difficult, yet necessary work they do to keep this place up and running. Even if they do detlete my posts every now and again.

Double ditto. I've been part of a few forums that you need a bullwhip and S&W just to protect yourself.

All jokes aside this is one of the nicest groups of guys and gals I've met. And the mods do a great job too. :D

Well, I never wanted to fall out with anyone, that was not my intention
it just seemed I was being targeted. So had to stick up for my self for what I believed to be right. A number of threads have gone of topic
and I didn't see one deletion of a post.

I've been a lurcker on these forums for many years, so I know you are a great bunch of guys.

I don't think I deserved the suspending of account, jab/threat, I've not insulted anyone. But I understand my comment was a little sharp
towards the mods, but I didn't mean to bash anyone. you were just doing
what you believed to be right.

Well I'm putting this trivial matter behind me, hope you can as well.

Regard Richard.

That's the perfect thing to do, Richard. Well done. I think most of us try to do the best we can around here, though I know I've put more than just my foot in my mouth before (with a vendor, nonetheless) by stating something poorly. I was fortunate and glad to be able to resolve the misunderstanding quickly and with no hard feelings. At the same time, I admire the patience the mods seem to have, despite all the comments that get thrown their way. It's nobody's intention, members or mods, to cause strife, but sadly it does happen once in a while, even if it's unintentional. When we allow these misunderstandings to be put behind us, it emphasizes the unique community to be found around here. I raise a pint to you, sir.
