For some reason the angle of the camera shot makes the brim look bigger than it is, especially in front.

This hat was reblocked by fedora after the crown tapered because I reshaped it with steam while the felt was damp. A word of advice: DON'T DO THAT!!

fedora really rescued this hat from the trash heap as it was tapered so bad there was no way I would wear it. Not to harp on this but this was a good example of modern felt not holding up like the vintage felt does. I have a foam cleaner I use on felt and it dampens the felt some. I have cleaned dozens of vintage hats with it and then reshaped them over a teapot right afterwards with the felt being a bit damp and it has never ever shrunk a vintage felt hat yet. When I did it to this one it looked like a dunce hat afterwards. However, I do take responsiblity for it as Optimo did tell me NOT to shape it with steam.

I really like the soft and rounded pinch. It's a nice break from the sharp creased look. Great looking lid !

Yes, the ribbon is black. At the time I bought this from Optimo they didn't have a really dark brown ribbon that was 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
